Laughter Is Medicine

You may have heard of laughter yoga – although it may sound funny, laughter actually has great benefits for our health: from stimulating internal organs by enhancing your intake of oxygen-rich air, to soothing tension, relieving pain, and improving your immune system. Yes please!

And you don’t even need to feel like laughing – you can start by faking it!

In this 20 minute session Hannah is leading us through a short 12 minute long laughter session followed by an 8 minute guided relaxation.

As always, observe how your body feels during and after the session. And definitely invite your furry companions to the relaxation session (the might find your laughter a little unsettling).

Laughter is directly tied to breathing, and we all know there are endless benefits to breathing exercises!

Laughter can help in areas such as:

  • high blood pressure
  • stress due to cortisol production
  • digestion issues
  • weak immune system
  • sleeping issues
  • anxiety

When we are able to keep our minds in a happy calm place it helps pets’ (and our) bodies heal themselves as well as reduces the harmful effects of stress.
