SUMMARY: During tonight’s Empower Hour! webinar we had the honor of listening to Qigong Grandmaster and China scholar Kenneth S. Cohen (Gao Han).

Ken shared an amazing webinar with us where he discussed the science of Qi (and the energy we are all swimming in) and teaching us the (the name of one of Ken’s great books).

Harnessing and directing the energy surrounding us is powerful, exquisitely sustainable (and free). We can use it to help our beloved pets heal with the combination of love, intention and Qigong.

Takeaways:

  • Qi [pronounced chee] is more than energy, it’s also an information carrying field.
  • We, and our pets, each have our own field of energy, which reflects our states of mind and physical health.
  • Lifeforce (energy) is recognized throughout the different cultures of the world.
  • Posture, movement, breath, visualization, and contemplation can be used to refine, gather, circulate, and project life energy.
  • To transmit Qi to an animal, we need to take care of our own energy first through practice such as standing meditation, communing with nature, and diaphragmatic breathing.
  • Treatment methods include reaching in with our mind to assess and treat the energy of our pet (or another person). To do this – hold your hands above your pet to palpate the energy field. Pay attention to warm vs. cool, peaks and valleys, and other general sensations.
  • We can use nature to both bring in energy and dispose of it.
  • We can use the whole palm (“broad beam”) or “sword fingers”, in which the index and middle finger are used as a “laser.”
  • Qigong has been scientifically studied and can increase our own health, increasing protective gamma brainwaves, healing mitochondrial damage, reducing inflammation, improving blood glucose and blood pressure levels, improving heart and liver health, and much more.
  • Where intent goes, the Qi goes; where the Qi goes, the blood flows.
