I need some help here . My Dog Mocha has been chewing on her tail ( she has a long feather tail ( she is an Aussilear )
She wont let me touch it - last night I saw that she had chewed a piece right to the skin and parts were bleeding.
I have found a few fleas . We try not to use medications on her and instead use natural essential oil products.
I put some coconut oil on it last night - Is that ok ?
THe only problem is that it is greasy and can stain our sheets ( she does usually sleep with us .
I can give her a calming bath of shea and oatmeal that I have, but am worried about the raw , red bleeding line down the back of her tail .
Is she doing this from a flea ,
We flea comb her 1-2 times a day ( I think she picks up fleas in the yard . We do also have an indoor cat, but she does not seem to have any fleas .
I hate to run to the vet for everything and know I can most likely support her holistically. I'll take any suggestions and ways to keep the fleas from doing this .
Is it possible she has a flea allergy ?
