1. Your pet's name, age, sex: Tippy, 12ish, Female
2. Neutering status: Spayed
3. Breed: Chihuahua
4. Approximate weight: 4.7 lbs.
5. What's their BEAM (behavior, energy, appetite, mood): Varies. Sometimes good; sometimes not great.
6. Diet: Freeze-dried raw (Small Batch)
7. Vaccination history / exposure to toxins, other medication: Has had vaccines in the past (pre-adoption); nothing in years. No exposure to toxins and not currently on meds.
8. Primary problem, when it began and if there was anything else happening around that time: Tippy always jumps around at feeding time, and she recently fell on her belly while doing so. She was walking wobbly after that but was otherwise OK. Saw her vet yesterday who confirmed "palpable pain in the cranial lumbar region" but also said she suspects a possible brain tumor. More info below.
9. Is the condition better or worse from exercise, heat, cold, time of day, certain foods, emotional upset, being touched, excitement, etc? She seems to be more active first thing in the morning and then again in the late afternoon/evening.
10. Has any diagnostic work been done? Diagnosis if available (you can attach your diagnostic tests to the post if you have them.) Bloodwork done recently; no notable issues.
11. Current and previous treatment. Arnica 30C (could go higher). Administered twice: once last night, once this morning. Was given Metacam for pain but haven't used it yet.
12. Other health concerns. Has been urinating inappropriately on dog beds for a few months and seems less active than her normal overall.
13. Tag a doctor: @Dr. Christina @Dr. Jeff

Tippy hurt her back, but according to her vet, she is also exhibiting signs of a potential "intracranial lesion due to a combination of signs including ataxia and recent behavioral changes (inappropriate urination), and the presence of a positional nystagmus on examination." As mentioned above, Tippy has been a bit less active at times throughout the day and a bit wobblier, especially upon waking. But at other times her BEAM seems good, and she has great appetite and follows me around the house. I hadn't noticed anything that was super concerning until this time she fell, and she vomited one time the day she fell.

My main concern right now is that she is not in pain. Is arnica safe to continue to give if she has a possible brain tumor? Can I keep giving it until she feels better? I would like to avoid using the Metacam if at all possible.

Thanks!

Yes, Arnica is safe. However, it may not help as there are hundreds of remedies for different types of pain reactions.

With all the possible problems, Tippy needs to be working with a seasoned homeopathic veterinarian.
