Hi everyone-

Using the HMDM Protocol for the "Lyme" symptoms and diagnosis is one of our next Empower Hour! topics.

If you haven't yet done the Lyme course, you can do so before we even have our discussion. And get empowered even before the EH!

All of the clinical scenarios that were quickly covered on Sunday will be topics for future forum threads and Empower Hour! discussion.

I will post the current format for these topics below.

However, I'm also thinking that a simpler organization might be even more helpful.

You decide!

I'm thinking:

HMDM Step 1 Goal (and a brief synopsis of the problem).

Step 2 Research (including useful homeopathic medicines).

Step 3 Implementation (dosing etc.).

Here's what we have for Lyme:

Research - what happened? Use your pet’s symptoms = case taking (you may want to review what we was covered before and also in appendix 3)
First step is to decide if you need to go right to the vet. Some of the common symptoms that would make you suspect Lyme disease are acute lameness (they may be fine one night and be unable to walk the next day), fever, swollen joints that are often not hot, no appetite, hot spots suddenly appear (maybe this is like the human rash?). And you remember pulling off some (or many) ticks recently. Maybe this is Lyme disease, maybe an injury.
Evaluate your comfort level. If you are super panicking, go an to the vet clinic though no need for the emergency clinic. If you are comfortable doing a little more homeopathic research, give some Flower Essences (like Rescue Remedy), offer some Reiki or prayer.
Follow the next steps to see if a medicine seems to fit closely. If you have, or can quickly get the medicine, administer it and see if there is some improvement, especially in BEAM - she lifts her head up and follows everyone with interest. She can stand, even if weakly. She eats a few bites of food. You may then feel confident to continue to treat at home.
Second - do you even need to give a homeopathic medicine?
Begin the process of selecting the one best medicine that covers the most unique symptoms of your animal.
Create your master quantified symptom list.
Chose the medicine to start with - from experience, Repertory work, Materia Medica research, notes for this class (brief now and more in notes)
Our mini repertory rubric from our experience for Lyme disease: Ars, Bell, Bry, Lach, Sulph
Possible rubrics for those working with the repertory: Kent unless noted otherwise
Fever;
Extremities: swelling, joints - and sub rubrics there
Skin; eruptions; _____
Materia medica for Lyme
Ars alb
Bell
Bry
Lach
Sulph
What potency?
What administration method?
Repeat how often?
Research about the condition at your vet, with your health care team, with the Holistic Actions Community. Decide if you need to do any, or any more, tests.
Take Action
Evaluate the response to the remedy
Supportive care
Next Steps - Even if she quickly recovers, or slowly and steadily attains full recovery, and maybe one of the EWS resolves so you feel the treatment was curative, you may want to get a Lyme titer for your interest. Screening titer with C6 is good. And if she is positive, yet had great improvement, you can share about homeopathy with the conventional veterinarian. You can then repeat a titer in a few months.

In what form would you like it?
