Hi everyone,
My 6 yr old girl Selks was diagnosed a few yrs ago wt Feline Idiopathis Cyctitus with no signs of any UTI issues other than struggle to pee and going outside the box. I have worked wt a homeopathic vet intensively on this issue, but it still recurs on-goingly. In the last few weeks we had a male fixed cat visiting the house outside (which she does not roam freely) and since then she has cried incessantly to go out and rub on the areas he was and all the other signs of estrus: lifted tail, little humping movements, as well as peeing outside the box ( quite significant places like my shoes and the stove). I had comfort zone but I think the phermones from it are making it worse as she peed right under the diffuser twice after I installed it (by my shoes- all have been removed now). I have 2 boys and 1 girl cat in the house all fixed since babies and she cares not about them or getting special attention from them, but she is more fussy with my girl cat Co (7 yrs old). I understand this can sometimes happen, but I am concerned about her and was hoping to get some holistic insight that may help us avoid surgery to explore and see if any ovarian tissue etc may need to be removed. She is the heart. of this household.

I'm sorry for the challenges you're having with Selks.

How's her BEAM (other than the inappropriate urination)?

Am I understanding correctly that both she and the other 3 cats have been desexed? Or is she unspayed?

Has she had the opportunity to go out (on a harness) to mark her territory?

Because you have had limited success with your current homeopath, you may want to select another (several work virtually) , or try switching to a great chinese medicine trained veterinarian. This article will help you find one near you.

Oh, and Pandora Syndrome (aka FIC, FLUTD, FUS, etc.) is readily treated with environmental enrichment and homeopathy.

I concur with Dr. Christina that you may want to try another homeopath if you've been working with this person for more than 6 months.
