Peroxide is great to knock down the surface bacteria contaminating a fresh wound. But only use it once for the initial cleaning. Continued use disrupts the fibroblasts and skill cells that will be working to heal the wound.

Hope you started with the tiniest bit, gotta be sneaky with cats! Maybe take a break and atart again with teeny amounts and very gradually increase. The other general supp I recommend is Completer Gut Health from Only Natural Pet.
I don’t know what is available or can be shipped to Norway, see catinfo.org to see what supplements are needed. You can then compare what you can get with that recipe.
My latest newsletter from Little Big Cat is posted on Substack! It's for a more general audience than you sophisticated holistic readers, but my approach is to gradually edge people in our direction! :) It's free, so c'mon down, comment, and help me educate more folks about holistic care for...
Hi Matthew, this is a very common condition and often brought on by stress.
Now that he's back home and feels safer it should start resolving. Buprenorphine is the most effective painkiller but it can be sedating since it is an opioid. Pain relief is the most important thing here. The other is...
There are very few pain meds that cats can tolerate. Meloxicam is safe but only for about 3 days. After that you get the side effects called out in the black box. I don't have a problem with it short term. The other option is buprenorphine, which is wonderful, but it's a narcotic.
Cats on...
Hi Lisa! First, thank you for being such a caring and conscientious guardian for Charlie!
Tooth resorptive lesions are extremely painful and are likely contributing to her grouchiness. So the dental needs to happen. Those teeth will need extracting. The only drug I am not a fan of is ketamine...
In 30+ years I only had one cat gain weight on an exclusively wet diet. Now two, I guess! Give him a little time. He is eating to make up for nutrients he’s been missing. He will ultimately stabilize and start losing.
Two years??!! Gosh, time to take some serious action!
Scabs in that location is almost certainloy flea-related. A single bite can result in a reaction lasting many weeks. Start with Dr. Christina's flea ebook or this article and make SURE the environment is pristine. I used to watch sand fleas...
Hi Barb, sorry to be late to the party... I'm traveling so that may affect email but I didn't get this (or any) notifications in the last several days.
FIP is a pretty worthless test. In my experience about 40% of totally normal cats will test positive. It means they have been exposed but the...
Real Mushrooms is a great brand. They use only mushroom caps, not mycelia, and do not grow on grain. Dr. Rob Silver works with them. They have wonderful product for cats, Functional Feline - Mushroom Powered Wellness for your Cat
Losing weight is a priority, and stopping high-carbohydrate kibble is the best way to do that. It is the carbs, not the raw, the protein, or even dietary fat that cause weight gain in cats--especially if they are not active. He could easily lose weight on canned only, if raw is a big problem for...
I think you're on the right track with the raw meat. Make diet transitions gradually to minimize tummy upset. Fish, however, are wild animals and can carry a variety of parasites, I don't recommend feeding raw fish. (Once I learned more about this I quit eating sushi and sashimi, which I loved!)...
Yes, absolutely! I haven't had the occasion to work with him directly but many of my clients have. He has his own system that has been quite successful.
