Hi Everyone! I just joined and wanted to introduce myself.
I'm here for a lot of reasons, as this title indicates. For pretty much my whole adult life, I have practiced animal communication with my pets, then I added reiki and healing crystals, energetic trauma healing, then, most recently, animal aura cleansing. I practice these tools with my rescues as well and have witnessed miracles from that work.
But I've never gone all-in on the homeopathic remedies, and I think this is a missing piece, particularly for my dog, Duchess Kate. She's a 14-yr old Cocker Spaniel I adopted as a rescue at age 5, already blind (from neglect, her eye and ear hair had matted, with serious infections underneath). But my husband and I always focus on what she's able to do. She has special needs, yet she's perfectly able, and we're patient, never doing for her what she can do, even if her way takes longer. Over the last 3 years, she lost her hearing, and we learned to communicate with her through touch.
In Nov of 2023, she had a sudden episode of idiopathic vestibular disease and seizures. Her brain MRI was perfectly healthy, as was her physical body, so we resolved to rehabilitate Duchess Kate and keep her comfortable as much as we can, and we're doing just that still in June of 2025.
There will be other details in help threads, but I must also tell you about Lord Byron, my Russian Blue "foster fail." He had an adverse vaccine reaction in 2019 at age 3 1/2 and almost died. He hasn't been vaccinated since then, and he's so freaked out (with good reason) about anything medical that he pukes, pees, and poops if you even put him in a pet carrier. So, I try to avoid that. In the summer of 2024 his left ear looked dirty and was VERY sensitive so I had a mobile vet to visit. She said he had an ear infection and also an ear tumor, which she said wasn't the type spread, nor was it fatal, so she suggested no further action there. And I considered getting a second opinion, but communicating with Byron, I understood he didn't want to be poked and prodded. So, I tried energy work. And to my eye, today, his tumor has shrunk considerably. It wasn't formally measured because we didn't pursue it.
I have 3 more cats, 2 of which I fostered from 4 1/2 weeks and one that was a 10-week old feral kitten that I socialized into a purring lap cat (but it took 6 weeks).
In my volunteer work as a foster mom to cats, kittens, and mom sets, I stand out to the rescue as a "helicopter mom." This is because I'm vigilant in reporting changes, advocating for them, and doing everything in my power at home to support their well-being--including reviving coding kittens with a heating pad, electrolytes, and corn syrup. The first time I did that protocol and saw the kitten regain energy was one of the happiest moments of my life, but I'd rather intervene earlier so they don't get to that point.
That said, I know there's so much more that I don't know about how I can take better care of Duchess Kate, Lord Byron, Principessa, Orlando, and Odin. Not to mention all my fosters. So, I'm here to learn. Delighted to meet you all.
