Hi friends,

Would love some recommendations for holistic vets and/or exceptional regular vets in San Antonio, Texas?

(Or nearby area if there arent any good ones in San Antonio)

I have spent a lot of time here during winter months over the years, as my sister lives here, and the vets I have been with in support of her and her 11 year old pug Bruce have been questionable to say the least.

My sister is finally ready to take the step to find a new primary and holistic vet, and it could also help me when I am here with Micky in case of an emergency.

Thank you in advance,

Sofie

Excellent idea, Sofie. Read this entire article on finding and working with an integrative/holistic vet, then post the ones you think would be the best for Micky and we will see if we know any of them or can help you evaluate them.

since she is ready to do a bit more holistic, have you considered inviting her (or giving a gift) to be a member of Holistic Actions?

Thank You for your kind answer Dr. Christina.

There isnt one or a couple you can recommend specifically in San Antonio or Texas area?
I honestly cant find any locally that work with homeopathy.

I cant seem to find even a decent regular vet.

And all the "holistic vets" that show up when I search in the area are not really holistic when you go in detail of their practice. They just use that word to get clients. And the first one thats shows up is the one my sister already has that absolutely isnt holistic besides the fact that she can do a bit of acupuncture, but her dog has been suffering with different symptoms for years without the doctors even noticing or they just brush it off.

My sister would never use this site unfortunately or work with a vet online. They dont even walk Brucy.
Very seldomly. I walk him daily when I am here.
They feed, cuddle and do what the vet says and what I say some times (barely).

So I need to find a good vet that can teach her face2face.

I do not know any personally in San Antonio.

Community members - know anyone?

When you say "search" did you go to all the organizations listed in the HA article? I know it is a lot of work. I might need to spend hours to help you go through the list, as I do not know the area. It took me about 2 weeks to find a good one for my daughter's town. Looking at one of the 8 organizations that would probably be relevant to San Antonio, I did find 6 possibles. I did not research each of their sites. If the article is not clear to you as to how to do the searching needed, schedule one of your calls and I will help walk you through it.

You are right that many who claim to be holistic are not. Good for you to be going to each of the sites. If your sister is not willing to work with a remote homeopath, that may limit your choices. Sometimes, with friends and family members, the best we can do is to pick one thing - maybe the flea and tick chemicals, or teach tricks in the house since they do not do walks - and start there. And then we just need to accept that this dog chose those people to share their life journey with and just love them as they are. I have had the same challenges.

Another option is for you to study several of the energy healing techniques and when not with the dog, send remote health energy. A few are: Reiki, HTA (healing touch for animals), EFT (emotion freedom technique), Bengston Method, Eden energy medicine, Tong Ren, WEBB. Quantum Touch, Prayer; Theta healing, Scalar Wave; Angels; Emotion code.
