My family avoids conventional drug treatments for flea and tick prevention, as well as the poison-infused collars commonly used on dogs. After several years of trying various natural tick collars, we have finally found one that works amazingly well. It's the Craveit Flea and Tick Collar for Large Dogs. It's made with a number of essential oils and doesn't carry the strong offensive odor some collars have. We live in a tick-infested region of CT, and after 6 weeks of use, we can report it works. We have found only one tick on Gus in that time and it was on the surface of his fur near his mouth soon after he had been in long grass on a sniff walk.

This is fantastic to hear. 😍

Thanks for sharing. 🙏💚🦋

So glad it is working for our dog. We usually avoid essential oils around the neck because of dogs' sensitive smell and rarely have we had them work well.

Would you share what else you have tried that did not work? and prior to the 6 weeks how many ticks a day were you finding?

I agree, that's a super important attribute to look for whenever using a topical (or anything, really).

If the dog or cat really objects, it's best to avoid and not add stress.

Hi Peter G: Does this still hold up after this post from last year? I'm new to HA! & looking at all the resources. (Yes, I've read Flea Be Gone book as well.) The "strong offensive odor" is too much for us humans so I can only image how much it's offensive to dogs.

And how long did you find it to last? Any issue with the collar on the neck/skin?

Thanks in advance!

Looking forward to Peter G's response.
Cathy - have you tried www.tickless.com, or zerobugzone.com, Flea Destroyer for the yard?
If just a few ticks, pick them off and keep working to build vitality so increased resilience.

We wish it did. Peter and others who purchased the collar based on Peter's recommendation, all found the collar to be exceptionally effective.

Unfortunately, it is no longer available.

Re: tickless
I'm looking into this (love they have collar attachment version & not the noisy tag version) & have been in communication with the company. They state the frequency is ultrasonic at 40 kHz which dogs won't be able to hear however, looking at what dogs' hearing is like (google searches) they can still hear up to 65kHz so I'm concerned about having constant "noise" bombarding my dog.

I'll take a look at the other 2 recommendations .

Yes, I'll keep working on building vitality. This one is taking a longer time due to long time health issues so trying to do other things in tandem to increase my dog's health.
