Here are some natural remedies for treating pyometra in dogs, suggested by Dr. Andrew Jones.

Please note that these suggestions are only for open pyometra, and I would not recommend any of them.
Dr. Jones doesn't actually recommend any of them, he says they are if you can't afford anything else, or don't want conventional treatment. None of these options are as desirable as homeopathy or appropriate herbal prescribing.
Honey, turmeric, vitamin C - these are mildly antibacterial and antioxidant, and should decrease inflammation. He says to give the combination three times daily for two weeks. Would you want your dog dripping pus for two weeks?
Yunnan PaiYao for pyometra has not had any repeated studies since the tiny Mexican study 17 years ago. No follow up was done by the researchers, which indicates that either the results weren't substantiated, or the follow up wasn't done, despite them saying they were going to do it.
Allicin from garlic is antibacterial; again, he says to give it for 14-21 days. Same question - is it fair for a dog to have an open infection for three weeks?
We can do better than this. Please note that Dr. Jones hasn't actually used any of these treatments, he is just repeating what he has found and making a YouTube video. That is not responsible.

Hi @Dr. Sara - Thank you so much for the candid feedback on the video - it's much appreciated and needed more than you know.

Videos such as that can be quite misleading, especially to desperate and panicking pet guardians. If you see the comments section, many are asking about Yunan PaiYao. I did some research on additional studies on this and nothing could be found and that raised a red flag (to me).

Same question - is it fair for a dog to have an open infection for three weeks?

And NO, it is not okay for dogs to go through with open infection for that long.
