1-4: Rodney is a male neutered American Shorthair cat. He is approximately 9 years old. I adopted him from a shelter when he was estimated to be about 1 yr. Old. He weighs 11-12 lbs, it varies because I tend to be a bit too generous on the (healthy) treats at times.
His BEAM seems fine, his mood is getting better, had been affected by introducing two new cats four months ago this ago, this had nothing to do with the over grooming, which has been going on since his last vaccination, rabies only, about 3 years ago. He hasn’t been playing much- except after getting catnip, and isn’t playing at all since I brought the two new cats into the house. My cats have had a cat fenced large backyard for years, so I figured they are too jaded to play too much anymore. I wish I could get him to play.
6. He has been eating a raw food diet for many years, first home made, now Viva Raw since about 2021. I have been giving additional egg yolk, sardines, herbs, as well as healthy treats. Since I started to read The Natural Cat, I have been adding some vegetables as suggested by Anitra.
7. Rodney has not had any vaccinations other than the rabies vaccine for over six years. I believe about six years ago he was given the rabies vaccine when he was also given rattlesnake anti venom, 1 vile, for what I’m quite certain was a rattlesnake bite, I can’t find the records for some reason… He was then given that vaccine 3 yrs ago, just rabies, because I thought I would be traveling and would need it, I made a rash decision and it turned out to unfortunately be unnecessary

8. Rodney started to chew his belly up sometime after the rattlesnake incident. It was down to a stubble, between his hind legs, up to the ribs and even a bit around the front lower legs; it was awful! I had him checked out by two ‘regular’ vets, at the time suspected flea allergy, even food allergies, mites etc. but was not successful at getting a diagnosis and never suspected the vaccination to be a factor, but was told he most likely had fleas. We also suspected emotional issues since he was having some stress with our other cat and them not getting along great. In the end he kept improving slowly, and finally I learned about food grade diatomaceous earth and did a radical “as if” flea cleanse with it. That seemed to do the trick, so I figured he must have had some type of invisible parasite. Unfortunately, not too long afterwards I had him vaccinated with a rabies shot, and he immediately started up all over with the chewing. Diatomaceous earth didn’t seem to help at all this time. That’s when I realized that it might have been the same cause as last time - it was exactly three years before and it seems likely that they would have given him a rabies shot then as well. . That second incident was over two years ago. It has gotten better since then, but nothing I’ve tried has made it stop. I have also not been able to pin down what HAS helped if anything. Maybe his immune system is figuring it out…
10. no diagnostics . I’ve tried MMS, and that seemed to be the most effective - it’s very tedious to do but I just decide to give it another try. I have given him homeopathic drops, Quercitin, DMSO, just can’t get a good read on what’s helping - he seems to fluctuate no matter what. I just started another attempt at the diatomaceous earth - that didn’t do anything two years go (after the second flare up), but I’m willing to try anything. Just started another whole house treatment with that…
9. It may be worse with emotional stress, hard to say. I just adopted two more cats four months ago and things have been very stressful around getting him to accept the new boys.

I’m here because a friend gave me The Natural Cat book - for help with the new cats introduction - and I read that there are homeopathic remedies to treat him. I’m doing my best to catch up on the vaccine resources offered on this site, will also look for a good homeopath near me, will continue with the diatomaceous earth more intensively. If there are remedy you could recommend that I can purchase and give him right away, to try and stop the itching, I would very much appreciate the help. What would you recommend to do to start detoxing him in xase he has vaccinosis?
