One of the HA! Academy members asked me a question about a specific supplement.
One of the big selling points of the supplement is that "it works at the cellular level":
Here's my reply:
"All supplements (and drugs) work by their effects on cells and the cellular micro-environment.
Everything biochemical works on the cellular level."
What depends on the drug or supplement is the amount that travels through cell membranes into cells.
This depends on the size and charge of the molecule.
There are also "toll" receptors involved.
These act like toll booths.
Some companies use words like these to sell their supplements.
In general, supplements, like drugs, use cellular energy (ATP) and can actually slow healing.
Supplements used for critical support (like OncoSupport for cancer or Formula CV for the heart, etc.), or any that are food-based are fine.
