Every paragraph of Hahnemann's Organon is exquisitely crafted and needs to be read carefully to be fully understood.
You may want to read this one over at least 3 times to fully discern its meaning:
"Useful to the physician in assisting him to cure are the particulars of the most probable exciting cause of the acute disease, as also the most significant points in the whole history of the chronic disease, to enable him to discover its fundamental cause, which is generally due to a chronic miasm. In these investigations, the ascertainable physical constitution of the patient (especially when the disease is chronic), his moral and intellectual character, his occupation, mode of living and habits, his social and domestic relations, his age, sexual function, etc., are to be taken into consideration."
It is especially relevant to our discussion of seemingly acute dis-eases.
Because this paragraph introduces us to the fundamental cause for all health challenges.
Here he briefly mentions miasms as that cause.
Think of a miasm as a way of classifying the internal energetic imbalance. Hahnemann originally considered miasms to be from acute infections like syphilis, gonorrhea and scabies.
We'll discuss miasms in greater detail.
How might a chronic miasm (or underlying energetic imbalance) be the cause if your pet gets diarrhea or vomiting from getting into the garbage?
