My kitty, 14 yrs of age, about a month ago began losing her appetite and within a few days stopped eating. I took her to the vet for blood work etc. She is anemic, blood work shows creatin levels really high, white cell count abnormal. He diagnosed haemobartonella and gave me a prescription for a month-long regimen of antibiotics and a special diet for kidney issues. I tried 1 day of the antibiotics (then stopped as my gut told me this was not the right protocol for her) but no success with the food. She was losing weight rapidly. Back to the vet, whereupon palpating her abdomen, he discovered a large hard lump. Ultrasound confirmed a large mass attached to her pancreas, as well as a possible mass inside her left kidney. We are now having to force feed her and give her a nutrition supplement (a product made by Virbac) Nutrition is one thing, getting her to a state of health is another. I repertorised her case and came up with Merc. 30C 10 drops in a quarter cup of water, 2 ml in a syringe, which I started yesterday. I guess I am wondering where I go from here. Also giving her Bach Floral Wild Rose and Aspen which seems to have improved her behavior in terms of her no longer hiding all the time.

Good morning.

Fantastic that you're not labeling your kitty's current health challenges!

Defining the internal and structural dis-ease is useful but it is supportive nutrition and homeopathy that are the keys for helping her!

Is there anything she likes to eat? Perhaps rotisserie chicken or any meat?

Getting sufficient calories into her is very important but can be difficult in the face of anemia and kidney problems.

Your next step might be to get a full picture of her structural dis-ease. In this case, many more specifics about her anemia, white count, kidneys and the mass(es) would be needed.

Have you consulted with an internal medicine or cancer specialist vet?

Are you already working with a holistic or homeopathic vet?

While you are formulating a plan, it's very helpful to support her with fluids under her skin, vitamin B12 (like Rx B12 from Rx Vitamins), Amino B Plex (with or without extra potassium depending on her chemistry values), AminAvast and Rx Renal.

The Rx products are all available from Rx Vitamins for Pets:

AminaVast:

Another helpful product is from our friends at Pet Wellbeing:

Good luck, and please feel free to post more details, pictures, and keep us updated.

Thanks Dr Jeff. Living in Merida Mexico, it is a real challenge finding the types of products you have suggested. Ordering online is good, but getting the stuff shipped in Mexico presents its own set of challenges inasmuch as most products like this are confiscated by customs here in the Yucatan. I am working with my vet, who has become more holistic in nature in terms of treating cats and dogs. I consider him to be my convert :) I will be at his clinic on Saturday, so I will ask him for a copy of Estrella's blood profile. I have not yet consulted with an internal medicine or cancer specialist as yet. I am giving her (orally) a vitamin and essential mineral supplement. Right now, she is way to sick to be interested to eat on her own but she has expressed an interest in chicken. I plan on making a stock of chick broth by cooking a whole chicken and giving her the liquid. The Merc. I started yesterday appears to have some positive effects and I believe I have found the correct remedy for her with the Merc. I will give her another dose today and wait to see what happens. Thank you

Oh, yes, I understand the challenges of getting these products in Mexico.

You might want to try iHerb as theey seem to be good at shipping worldwide:

Fantastic that you're working with an open-minded vet and are training him in Vitality and Balance using holistic therapies including homeopathy.

And excellent that you're seeing positive early effects from the Merc!

Please keep us updated on your kitty's progress.
