Here's the recipe for the Myos mix:

Mix equal parts of Myos Powder and goat's milk kefir (Trader Joe's carries this in the US).

Then add 1/4 Manuka Honey and 1/4 ground flax seeds or oil.

Before mixing the Myos and goat's milk, add enough bottled or filtered water to dissolve the Myos powder.

Then mix in the other ingredients.

This blend is an awesome way to help weight gain, aid muscle growth, reduce sarcopenia (age-related muscle loss), and help support immune health and re-establish internal balance if your pets have any serious dis-ease (even cancer).

Myos is the fertilized egg yolk concentrate which I've mentioned before.

Oh, and don't worry that the Myos container says "canine". It does not contain anything other than egg yolks but the manufacturer has chosen to market to dogs.

Hello @Dr. Jeff !

It's been a few months since we chatted about Jerome my senior (nasal) cancer and ckd kitty. We have been working with Dr Sue on his diet and Jerome is eating well overall but losing more weight since summer so I am hunting for any solutions to stop the slide.

Circling back to this old post from you -
1. have you had any success with this ? I recall you have a kitty with similar issues ?
2. Will this recipe help with cancer cachexia and muscle loss ?
3. Will the Manuka honey feed the cancer cells ?
4. I just bought Myos Feline Muscle Formula, will it work if I give it plainly with food without milk kefir, honey and flaxseeds oil ?
5. Will the phosphorus content aggravate his kidneys ? I give it with Epatikin... does that help ?
6. Do you have any other weight gain formula to share ? Or is it not reversible with his conditions ?

He has started a wobbly gait in the past week. There were some serious bloat after meals but it all stopped this week suddenly. He's been going for acupuncture and B12 injectables weekly and SQ fluids daily.

So many questions !

xx brenda

Yes, seven years ago I used this mix.

With Tiggy (my previous kitty with CKD and sarcopenia I used a mix of sardines, TJ whey powder and structured water.

Yes! It might be best to talk. I have a few HMDM calls available today between 4 and 5 ET
It's nearly 2AM where I am, don't think I can last another 2 hours 😄

I'll look into your next availability and book a HMDM call with you, see ya soon !

Ah, thanks for sharing that helpful info about the time difference!

What times would work best for you?

Oh, now I see that you scheduled for 3:30 tomorrow. Would a bit earlier in the day be better for you?
