Hey all, need some advice, at a dead end.
Heartthrob is a cat we rescued from Chicago Animal Control on Dec 10. His foster is reporting he was scratching badly at his eyes so he was put in a cone soon after coming into rescue. He had neuter, entropion, and dental surgery on Dec 31.
On Jan 16, the cone was removed, and ever since he has been scratching and licking himself raw everywhere on him.
He's in a cone and shirt but he still gets his paws, legs, and tail.
Anyway, he's on HP dry, z/d wet. It doesn't seem to help. He's tried prednisone with no avail. He's had an allergy test and not allergic to anything (the one pos I guess isn't an issue per vet). He's had bloodwork done and he's healthy. He is FIV+ and around 8 yrs old. Atopica isn't good for fiv+ so we haven't tried that yet. Vet gave CeraSoothe but he's a whooping 17 Ibs and very strong so it's not going well even with gaba.
I've asked the vet today about Prozac.
Do you know why he is having this scratching and licking? I suggested she consult with a homeopathic vet but wanted to include his labs and photo as well. Thank you for any insight.
