2. Yes, 6/29/2023
3. American Bully aka Pit and bulldog mix
4. 52 lbs
5. What's their BEAM (behavior, energy, appetite, mood)
B - droopy, red, swollen left eye with cherry in it. clear discharge, seems sensitive to light, keeps rubbing it on furniture and with his back leg. Happened once before last year while working with last homeopath
E - energy good, hyper, distracted though, almost manic
A - good, always ravenous but tongith left a few pices in the bowl and that's unusual for him. maybe distracted with eye pain?
M - distracted, hyper, reactive, aloof, excited, separation anxiety
6. Raw Stella & Chewys w/ raw egg, cilantro, cottage cheese, bluebrries and supplements
7. full round when in the shelter early June 2023. Hasnt been vaccinated since. Has had 2 rounds of combo nosode by Dr Cooney.
8. Primary is PU/PD. I adopted him with that. The cherry eye he's always had but it gets aggravated when he's excited. I'm concerned about the cause of it. He seems to get it when he's being treated by a homeopath. Last year it was with 2x Calc Carb. this year it's 2x 10M Ars Alb.
9. Worse when excited. usually gets bad when he's picking up sticks and balls at the park. Today he had a marrow bone in his crate with him and I think he was working too hard on that.
10. No, I've never thought it was a big deal. I know bulldogs have cherry eyes and that it's common. I'm concerned that it might be a sign of a deeper issue.
11. Dr Gil had me make a chamomile compress and that brought it down after 2 treatements. I'll do that again tonight. Any other suggestions? Could this be something more serious?
12. Other health concerns.
13. Tag a doctor: @Dr. Jeff, @Dr. Christina

Apologies for typos, I had tech issues and had to write this 3x!!!

For the cherry eye, typically lubrication (I like lubricants that contain HA like Oculenis) followed by hot compresses (with calendula is great) 2-3x a day.

For the other symptoms, I'd advise continued homeopathy. Have you been working with Dr. Gil since last year?

I was with Dr Gil for about 6 months. Then I went about 8 months without seeing anyone. Now I'm with Dr. Cooney for about a month. Dr Gil gave him 200CK Calc Carb,2 doses. Dr. Cooney gave me 10M Ars Alb and Phos. He wants me to do 4 doses of Ars and if I don't see improvement, switch to Phos.

So the cherry eye is related to his dehydration? That would make sense bc of his kidney issues.

How do I do a hot compress with calendula? I replied about homeopaths in the previous response.

It can be. But probably not in this instance.

How do I do a hot compress with calendula?
Soak a washcloth in hot water to which you add a few drops of calendula.

Have you spoken to Dr. Todd about the topical treatment of the cherry eye?

Calendula is an essential oil? I’ve only used it in a balm for skin issues. I purchased the drops last night. I haven’t spoken to Dr Todd about the eye yet. It wasn’t an issue when I first started working with him. I was focused on the kidney issues. I’ll reach out to him now.

Thank you Dr Jeff! I reached out to Dr Todd and he wants me to give belladonna bc of the swelling so I’ll buy that and the calendula tonight.

Be sure to keep a journal of when symptoms appear, what was happening then, and quantify how they change over time. Since the chamomile compress helped, you can continue that if the calendula (herbal not essential oil) compress does not do as well.

And read on the site about evaluation of response and the value of symptoms. When they appear and what part of the body they are on, etc. Cure, palliation and suppression. Searching for those terms will help you follow the process of treating the whole dog, not merely one symptom after another.

To deeply understand health, take the intro and intermediate homeopathy courses that were live streamed.

Thank you Dr Christina. Are those homeopathy courses on the webinar part of the site? Do you ever do courses on how to keep the journal? I've noticed the last day that he hasn't been able to jump up on the bed like normal. he used to dive up on to it and now he's putting his front paws up and carefully stepping his bag legs up. It's hard not to go in to a tailspin about every new change and symptom. I guess if it was all written down somewhere at least I would be organized about it

The journal book actually teaches you how to use it. Yes, tracking the symptoms can help you. to find anything on the main website (not the forum), go to the resource library and type in the search bar. For homeopathy, you can click on that icon/box and read a lot. The courses are towards the bottom of that section.

Be sure to let Dr. Cooney know about the not jumping up. That could be an indication that the Ars alb is either incorrect, or a lower potency may be needed. It can also point to a different remedy than phosphorus, so before giving either of them be sure to SPEAK with Dr. Cooney.
