My calico Millie is likely 14-16 years old, and has dramatically lost weight to 4.8 kegs from 6.2 kgs. She is grouchy in the morning, withdrawn at times, cuddly and affectionate at times. Feeding her cooked proteins, bone broth, quality canned pates. She was vaccinated over 3 years ago. Recently has had 3 gabapentin sedations in the past month and one scary trazadone reaction, for pre appointments so she is calm enough to be assessed during vet exams. Had antibiotics last week, B12, sub q fluids and a terrible reaction, almost passed the next day. Twice now she has been curled up sleeping, when she suddenly lays back and one paw goes up over her head, and she cant move. I scoop her up in a blanket and hold her and she is lifeless, whimpers and her breathing speeds up then slows, and it feels like she’s dying. Happened last night, but then she got up, layed down on the ground for a time, got up and walked, sat up for a long time, then went for food, water and a pee. Then came back to bed.
