Hey guys, I’m new here and just trying to navigate this site and hopefully get in touch with @Dr. Jeff soon In the meantime I wanted to introduce myself and my dog Skip, and I’m definitely open to any insight or feedback while I figure this all out.

Skip is a 6 pound long hair chihuahua — he’s literally my whole world, the sweetest little soul. I’ve had a gut feeling for a while that something’s been off with him, but lately things have been getting more noticeable. He’s had some odd symptoms since he was young, like skipping on his back leg , — also lost majority of his hair from young age...(vet told me its anxiety... dont believe that) and more recently he’s had mild seizures and now this strange movement where his back legs kick out when he walks.
His liver enzymes came back elevated on bloodwork, and I faintly remember when he was younger having high liver enzymes but it's all foggy. I’m trying to take a more holistic route with this moving forward. I don’t want to just cover up symptoms — I really want to treat the root issue and help him heal long-term, but I also want to be careful and make the right choices.

Im curious if maybe this is all connected all along and im just worried sick. I feel like my regular vet brushed me off — they’re not really listening or giving him the care he deserves. I know something’s going on and I don’t want to wait until it’s worse.
So I’m here, trying to learn, trying to support him the best I can, and hoping to figure out the next right step. Appreciate any thoughts 💛

Oh my goodness, little Skip is sooo cute! It's so understandable you are worried and want to get to the roots of what's going on. Have you had a chance to read through the 101 course, Kayla? It could help you understand internal imbalance and how to start addressing it. Hopefully @Dr. Jeff or @Dr. Christina will pitch in soon

Hey Kayla!

Thanks for making your first post about Chip. As Aruna said, he is super cute (and jaunty and appears to be saying that there is nothing to worry about...)
Im curious if maybe this is all connected
Yes, absolutely! And we can talk about this and start to correct his imbalance during our initial 2-hour evaluation. Or you can schedule 15 minutes for us to talk tomorrow.

Hi Kayla!

I am in the midst of my calls right now (which are all booked up) and will call for a quick chat if I am able prior to 5:45 ET.

Thanks for chatting with me just now, Kayla!

Here's the link we discussed where you can schedule the two-hour initial appointment:
