I could really use some help with the large mass we found I posted about Sunday.

This is very scary & no one is telling me anything. Vets want $1000 just for ultrasound & bloodwork. I have been unable to walk or stand long enough to work since I was rear ended in a car accident in August. Her BEAM is great but this is serious.

I cannot find a previous post on this, can you provide the standard information (age, symptoms, BEAM, etc.), any notes from the veterinarian or radiologist? I'm terrible at reading radiographs but these don't seem to be very clear.

Thank you so much for checking. Her BEAM is good. Shes 11yr old not spayed, white pit/Dogo possibly. Back in 2024 after contracting lyme she had mysterious and off bouts of heavy panting & trembling. About two weeks ago she started vomiting like crazy and I suspect it was acorns or something. Cleared that up & a day later it triggered lymes, she showed lameness & symptoms including the trembling & panting so I took her to homeopathic vet & was doing everything to control the lymes & worked great using arsenicum album 30c then Sulphur 30c & even hypericum just to see if that would help more but didnt do much better. Then she lost her ability to pee. She was filling up took her to ER Sunday they found a large mass right side.
I cant afford $1000 for tests & if I use the money I wont have anything to pay for further treatment. Found Clay County can take her for around $450 on the weekend for ultrasound bloodwork & visit then book her surgery if useful 3 weeks out much cheaper then anywhere else I've found. Ive reached out to Samantha's Fund here in Florida for help too.

Here is the original post. I warn you its a long one lol

Post in thread 'Nyxie is panting and/or shivering lately. Previous lyme issue.' Nyxie is panting and/or shivering lately. Previous lyme issue.

Yes, it is potentially very serious.

Can you describe her (physically, and who she is as an individual)?

Any possible triggers for the urinary symptom (inability to urinate, urgency, narrow stream, etc.?

How is she peeing now?

Does she have any prior medical history?

When were her last shots etc??

Please remind me the name of your vet homeopath?

Making a recheck appointment with them might be a good next step for you.

Can you describe her (physically, and who she is as an individual)? Yes shes playful & friendly very social, tends to be content laying & cuddling & would lick me to death if she could.

Any possible triggers for the urinary symptom (inability to urinate, urgency, narrow stream, etc.? Just the recent few weeks where she had been throwing up from acorns which triggered reoccurring lymes but the mass blocked her temporarily. The methadone they gave her worked & shes been doing great since

How is she peeing now? Normal.

Does she have any prior medical history? Yes my previous post Post in thread 'Nyxie is panting and/or shivering lately. Previous lyme issue.' Nyxie is panting and/or shivering lately. Previous lyme issue.

When were her last shots etc?? Back in New Orleans 2020ish They had a strict policy of putting down this breed without quarantine.

Please remind me the name of your vet homeopath? Kingsley Animal Hospital & previously Dr Segrera but only by phone the last couple years as we were in CT then came to FL.

Making a recheck appointment with them might be a good next step for you. They told me to get an ultrasound & blookwork & I found a place thats low cost total about $500 but the vets are saying this looks like extensive surgery something they dont handle which i dont know how ill afford it. Im hoping that by knowing what it is I can try ozone/oxygen, castor oil packs, parasite cleanses. I may have to go the preferred natural route but what are my options?
Can you gleen anything from the xrays?
Thank you!

There is a big smooth mass in the area of her bladder.

It can be anything from a cyst, to a pyometra (uterine "infection") to a cancer.

When was her last heat?

She just was in heat up until the acorns incident a couple weeks ago. We had discussed that but they sort of brushed it off as more likely ovarian/uterine but I believe either is possible. I have the gabaoentin on hand and give it to her as needed. She seems to do well with alternating arnica 200x & CBG /CBD as well

So what do I do?
Ive got a few days till her ultrasound & probably 3 weeks till they can get her in surgery & hoping i can afford it.
Ive offered some suggestions like castor oil packs, Golden Paste etc

So what do I do?
Did you discuss what to do with any whole-istically miinded animal professionals on Nyxie's health care team?

If not, I think that might be helpful.

If there is no one on her team, perhaps schedule a 15 minute Holistic Medical Decision Making call with Dr. Christina or I.

Yes. Ive been reaching out to everyone & not really getting answers.

I would have contacted Dr Segrera but she was closed Sun/Mon.

My local vet called to tell me he doesn't do this type of surgery. He put me on to their previous owner whos the truly homeopathic holistic one. I offered to pay for a consult just to have an idea of what types of things might help but shes kind of retired & she emailed to tell me that the surgery was necessary & my money better spent on that & some homeopathic remedies i could consider & a link to a fb group- Allies Legacy/Tuckers Journey. Im just waiting to get approved in the group.

Clay County Humane that should be able to help with low cost & no credit check financing but they're booked out a good 3+weeks for surgery. Every Pet. Org can do $200 ultrasound + bloodwork out the door hope less than $500 but I have to wait till their late night ER opens this weekend.

Sorry, Dr Jeff Ididn’t see your response until late last night. Honestly, I wasn’t sure you were still interested in helping by your latest response, and I felt quite hurt & dismissed. Many of my questions went unanswered, and after posting about the emergency, I heard nothing for 4 days until I started a new thread.

Nixies BEAM is great today. Each day better than the last Shes been off gabapentin & arnica for 3 days. Im using medical grade red light therapy & CBD/CBG, GoldenPaste. I took them for a walk in the woods yesterday. Im teaching her not to take a flying leap from the high bed, scramble out of the car & use the stairs without racing, so nothing ruptures.

Ultrasound tonight—hoping they can get her into surgery sooner than the 3+ week wait (pyometra/cysts/cancer factors ongoing). In the meantime, I’m bridging safely but would love ideas from others who’ve been through similar waits.

Specifically:

~Castor oil packs (topical for inflammation/cysts/pain—application, duration, precautions pre-surgery?)

~Yunnan Baiyao (TCM) — holding off until closed pyometra is ruled out.

~Osteopathy (my D.O. has manipulated masses pre-surgery to make removal easier—any pet experiences?)

~Other gentle supports (Golden Paste tweaks, etc.) that helped comfort or support without risking surgery

~What to avoid during the wait.

~Who AW & SOC are that Dr. Jeff mentioned (so I can research if useful)

Thanks for any shared experiences or input.

I'm glad that Nixie is just getting better and better!! :snowman: :snowman: :dog2:

Despite her diagnosis.
Many of my questions went unanswered
As a list of things to be doing that's all fine. However the important thing is maintaing her improving BEAM and energy flow. Just keep doing what you're doing.

Everything you list is fine. The only thing I'd add is Arnica 10M the night before surgery. And then as often as needed (for any post-op discomfort) after surgery.

A few days before surgery stop any fish oils. The blood thinning effect of Omega-3s is contraindicated during surgery and for about a week afterwards.

Sorry, I thought you were a Medical Medium person.

AW=Anthony William and SOC is Spirit of Compassion.

Good luck tonight. Please let us know what the ultrasound shows.

Ultrasound shows mass & does not appear to be pyometra. The mass blocks the view of the bladder so she needs exploratory surgery. Quotes for min/max surgery were under $2000 at Clay County Animal Hospital. Shes not in any immediate danger and they can get her in anytime this week & maybe send her home the same day.
💕🐶💕

Since its the Humane Society they require full spay. Shes 11. I inquired about ovary sparing & they dont seem to offer it. Im hoping to not have to do more than medically necessary. Seems like i dont have an option not to do the full spayed at either Clay County or EveryPet.org. Shes my first unspayed dog. I think it will be ok. Thoughts?
Thank you!!
