I had asked a question about this research (probably in one of the Friday ask vet sessions). I asked Claude to pull together info about this— thought others might find it of interest.



 
Thanks for the pointer to this super interesting protein (AIM).

My interpretation of the literature I read is that the issue in cats who get CKD is fundamentally an issue at the level of the vital force.

The IgM antibody bond is tighter than it should be (yes, even in cats who are genetically predisposed to this).

It's an issue similar to what I call "misguided" inflammation.

And the I read this:

though high, free levels of it can sometimes exacerbate chronic kidney issue
Since high intravenous doses are currently being used in the studies I think I'll stick with the methods we use that are safe and effective ways to bring the vital force back into balance.
