Feeding bones daily?

I think the point about bacteria is getting them all over the rest of the house, which is why I like doing a quick hot-water swipe (less than 10 sec) to get the bulk of slaughterhouse bugs off. The rest of the bacteria in the environment are already commensal and everyone is used to them. ;-)

the benefit of bones too big to chomp on is for the tiny front incisors. Their purpose is to "gnaw", so you want a bone, maybe 1-2 times a month, with a lot of meat on it. Once gnawed off - remove it.

Personally I do not worry about bacteria at all - look what they lick, especially animals who go outside. Even indoors - they lick their butts!

@Dr. Christina, It's more about the raw bone getting on his paws, etc and then jumping on the couch, etc
