In preparation for the upcoming homeopathy for animals seminar, here are a few great books for your reading at home.

Although there are many listed here (and many more), there are only 3 that are critical to understanding how your pets bodies work and the "mechanics" of healing.

Those 3 are Hahenmann's "Organon", Kent's "Lectures on Homeopathic Philosophy", Close's "Genius of Homeopathy".

These books span brief introductions to more serious homeopathic books. There is an asterisk beside the few to begin with.

Narayana is a good source for books or Amazon Narayana Verlag, Homeopathy, Natural healing, Healthy food

VETERINARY HOMEOPATHY
The first four are excellent for philosophy and principles of homeopathy. All are good for acute prescribing or to use as extra rubrics as you individualize each case.
* Homeopathic Care for Cats and Dogs – Don Hamilton
* Practical Handbook of Veterinary Homeopathy - Wendy Jensen
* Homeopathy: What to Expect, including 101 cases - Edward DeBeukelaer
Textbook of Veterinary Homeopathy – John Saxton & Peter Gregory
The Homeopathic Treatment of Small Animals ‑ Christopher Day (also Beef & Dairy Cattle)
Your Dog and Homeopathy – Atjo Westerhus
Homeopathic Treatment of Dogs (also of Cats, of Cattle, of Horses, of Goats) and
Materia Medica ‑ George MacLeod [Ignore the potency recommendations]
Homeopathic Treatment for Birds - Beryl Chapman

PHILOSOPHY AND PRINCIPLES
*Homeopathy: Beyond Flat Earth Medicine - great introduction to homeopathy by a naturopathic doctor, Tim Dooley. Free on-line version: http://www.drdooley.net/Book.pdf
*The Organon –Hahnemann From the master's mouth. A must for the serious student. Best edition is by O’Reilly and costs more but is worth it.
* Lectures on Homeopathic Philosophy - James Kent Wonderful exposition on how homeopathy works and how to use it in the best way.
Chronic Diseases - Hahnemann
*The Genius of Homeopathy - Stuart Close
Lesser Writings Kent. More advanced reading.

REPERTORIES

*Kent's Repertory - The most popular index of symptoms & affordable.
Complete or Synthesis - MODERN repertories with many new additions. Both are available in computer versions.
New World Veterinary Repertory - Pitcairn and Jensen. Read more about it at
New World Veterinary Repertory

REPERTORY GUIDES

The first is very helpful for your homeopathic studies
*Homeopathic Repertory: tutorial and workbook – Karen Allen and Dr. C Chambreau
Dictionary of Homeopathic Medical Terminology - Yasgur - definitions of words used in homeopathy.
Guide to Kent’s Repertory – Ahmed Currim

MATERIA MEDICAS

The following three Materia Medicas have specific & detailed symptoms.

Clarke’s Dictionary of Materia Medica 3 volumes (inexpensive)
Handbook of Materia Medica and Homeopathic Therapeutics - H.C. Allen 1 vol.

The following are good for learning remedies and confirming choices.

Lectures on Homeopathic Materia Medica -James Kent Detailed and insightful descriptions of
many remedies by a master homeopath.
Concordant Materia Medica - Vermeulen - very complete, detailed, modern.
Desktop Materia Medica - Roger Morrison - modern, concise,.
*Boericke's Materia Medica and Repertory - Provides specific information on the actions of most homeopathic remedies with an introductory overview on each remedy. Several types of repertories, including a clinical conditions one. Inexpensive
