Anti inflammatory for puppy 5 weeks old?

I have a puppy from my litters that got hurt and can't walk, my vet says it should all get better but gave me 6 days of anti inflammatory to give my 5 week old pup.
My vet is not open to holistic approach, and I am well aware that we need balance between both conventional and holistic. I am uneased to administer anti inflammatory to a puppy that at that age has not a complete liver growth......can this do damage for the future to my pup? Please share your thoughts or if I should do something else? The name of the anti inflammatory is Gabapentin.

Potentially yes (which is true of any drug) tho gabapentin is pretty safe.
