There seems to be a lot of advertising lately about activated charcoal and many different brands. Does any one have a recommendation as to which would be the best to have on hand?

Hey Pat!

Do you know why people using it?

As a vet, we use it to hopefully help adsorb toxins in acute exposures.

For general detox purposes the science-oriented human docs still recommend good 'ole fiber.

I use this one for pets:

Yes, Dr Jeff, I was thinking more along the lines of a brand to have on hand in case of emergencies.

Got it!Here's one of the brands I used when I worked in the ER:

As important is to have homeopathic medicines like Nux vomica, Arsenicum album and Pulsatilla around in case any of them is indicated (by any symptoms)

@Dr. Jeff would you recommend your fiber support product (Fiber Detox) mentioned earlier for my kitties for when I have my kitchen cabinets painted in a few weeks? I read the recommendations on the link and it seems to cover exposure to toxins. Would it be safe for Bella with her chronic kidney disease and Maya too?

Yup!

@Dr. Jeff I just tried to buy the Fiber Detox and on the payment page it claimed a critical error. Can I call someone instead? Also, I wasn't sure what your dose recommendations are for 11 pound kitties. Or if it is the same for dogs and cats. Thanks!
