Hello Dr. Christina, Dr. Jeff, Dr. Jean and the forum members,

My 14 mo kitten Flora stopped eating and drinking from Thursday 8/7 afternoon. Last time she urinated and pooped was 8/7. She completely refused to eat and drink yesterday so I made her drink a little water by the syringe, she also accepted 3/4 of Churu Nourish pack. She is still refusing to take anything by mouth, even a little. She wasn’t lethargic but was an unusually quiet. She vomited once a little yesterday (yellowish) and once this morning with a lot of clear liquid.

CBC and Chemistry results are attached. She received the sub cutaneous fluids this morning and prescribed Clavamox drops for next 2 weeks. The diagnosis from my holistic vet was unspecified infection or inflammation. He rejected the idea of pancreatitis, so I left with the suspicion of UTI. The bladder was absolutely empty so they couldn’t conduct the urine test.

As of now I gave her 1 ml of Claxamox and a few mil of the beef bone broth and she is sleeping now. She is still refusing the any kind food. Generally She is raw fed.

I noticed she stopped jumping. Usually she loves an elevated spaces but last few days she resides mainly on the floor level.
I don’t know if I can consider her as an indoor cat since we regularly take her for a leashed walk which she loves, but last few days she refused to walk as well.

Usually I consider antibiotic as a last resort but I’m really worried she is not drinking and or urinating, so I started the course.

I have Adored Beast Easy Peesy I and II, Gut Soothe, Cat Enzyme Cran Tri C, Rx Biotic, Feline Essential Oxy Cat and Vita Cat.

Any explanations and advice are greatly appreciated.
Elena.

Hey Elena!

Has Flora started eating or having a better BEAM?

Her immune cell profile on the CBC does indeed show that her body is working on healing.

Is she showing any UTI symptoms like frequency or urgency?

Since she has a pre-diagnosis disease working with a veterinary homeopath may be your best bet.

Hello Dr. JeffThanks for the reply.

After 2 doses of Clavamox Flora is back to her normal. Yesterday her BEAM was greatly improved, she started to eat, stopped hiding and urinated twice. Today she is back to normal playful and cheerful herself.

I’m continue antibiotics twice a day until the end of the week unless you tell me I can
stop it now.

I also started giving her AB Gut soothe and Easy Peezy II. Both of the remedies contain probiotic so for now I’m not adding any additional one. When I stop these two (in a week?) I will add Felix Flora or RX Biotic which I have.

As of now as well as before she didn’t exhibit any signs or symptoms of UTI, NEVER. Usually she urinates twice a day, deficates ones a day or every other day. I clean her litter box daily, often twice a day.
Just before she got sick she urinated much more then usual.

Flora has never been sick before. She always eats as much as she wants as often as she wants, mostly coming back to her plate a few times with the intervals to finish her breakfast or dinner. She is raw fwd and always has been, eats a variety of the proteins, beef and bison are the favorite. On the regular basis she is getting AB Phytosynergy and Pawsitive Immunity only. I add a little bit a water to her plate otherwise she drinks very little.

So,I don’t understand what is the source of her infection/inflamation? Did she pick up something outside during her walks or something? There is something that threw her off balance?

Another question I have what could I do to avoid the conventional medicine in the situation like I had? I was really surprised that Dr. Bukoff who is the holistic vet immediately prescribed antibiotic knowing I’m not a fan of the convention approach.

Thanks again.

How fantastic to hear that Flora is doing well!😻😻😻

Great questions. They can both be answered by seeing that the "misguided" inflammation was a result of her energetic imbalance.

This will often only manifest through BEAM and other symptoms like Flora showed.

A vet homeopath can help correct this imbalance without usings "antis".
