@Dr. Christina, Thank you for this. I guess I thought he always pees first thing in the morning...
Why is the wetness such a deterrent (seems for small dogs esp)?
Do you have any suggestions on training on a piddle pad? We have him starting on the pad outside. Sometimes he goes on it, but it's...
@Dr. Jeff,
Seems to have resolved after we gave him a different meal.
I brought him out on the deck (it's stormy here) and he eventually peed but on the welcome mat. He's peed on the deck in inclement weather bf so not sure why today is different.
I guess we'll keep an eye on him. I get...
@Dr. Jeff and all,
Cooper is not peeing this morning. He pooped right away. He did zoomies like crazy, then I put the leash on to take him to his pee pad and he must have pulled in a way that made him choke for a bit. That stopped after about 15-30 seconds.
He took a few traning treats earlier...
@Dr. Jeff and @Dr. Christina, Thank you so much for the encouragement and tips. Sounds like great suggestions, esp when he's so young. As time goes on, it gets more challenging to turn things around.
Hi all,
Any thoughts on the inpact of grooming on dogs? It seems quite stressful to Cooper even though it appears the groomer is compassionate. We don't get to see everything they do to Cooper. What can be done to help them get through it?
@Dr. Jeff gave us a remidy for Cooper recently, and he...
@Dr. Christina, I will do my best to not worry. It has been since 2008 that I was told I had Lyme. I understood after reading Medical Medium info, that Lyme wasn't the real culprit. However, I have personally become quite sick from tick bites as they tend to kick up my viral load. as for Cooper...
@Dr. Jeff and @Dr. Christina Thank you for your insights here.
Dr. Jeff, If you and Maya are essentially rolling around in leaves and shrubs, I would imagine you both can get a lot of ticks. I my case, if I do this, I may simply be sicker for weeks until I take antivirals in shock therapy...
Hi @Dr. Jeff, @Dr. Christina @Dr. Jean Hofve,
I know there's a lyme disease course but I can not read too much these days...
I'm still not clear on tick (flea) prevention. We've used Tick Hex by Peter Dobias for years. The bottle says 'weekly." We used it almost daily. Is that too much? I...
@NancyK
Hi, and thanks for your suggestions. i tink I have slippery elm in a tea bag and no marshmallow root here...
He gets raw beef with veggies. It's all home made in a food processor. He also gets chicken. All as organic/grassfed as possible, and as humane as is possible (though I pray...
@Dr. Jeff @Dr. Christina can you guide me to something to soothe Cooper's digestion? He woke shaking some and then eventually loose stools, even some indoors after I had him out. He def seems off today even though he isn't fully potty trained.
@Dr. Jean Hofve, thank you so much for responding so quickly! We ended up giving him 12.5 as was told to us by @Dr. Jeff a while back bf we had heard from you.
He didn't vomit, but he was quite vocal the whole ride. After the grooming experience (3 hrs), he fell asleep in the car. I think he...
@Dr. Jean Hofve, @Dr. Jeff
Hi all, Just double checking if 12.5 less drowsy dramamine is correct two hrs before the trip. Also, will it still be working in his system three or so hrs later for the ride home?
Also, we also have Cocculus homeopatic remidy and accupressure, which helps...
I'm thankful @Dr. Christina but a little bit overwhelmed. I have an animal communicator on board and a massage therapist to contact. I also have WEBB basic course that I have yet to start.
I have a hard time watching videos and listening to things (I manage a chronic illness) when I'm in a...
@Dr. Jeff and @Dr. Christina,
Cooper is now nine months old. He is doing well in many ways, but I have a few concerns regarding his behavior and physical health.
Lately, he has been struggling to sleep during the day due to separation anxiety and follows me constantly. Additionally, he is a...
Hello, @Dr. Jeff and @Dr. Christina and @Dr. Jean Hofve,
We'd love to keep Cooper's teeth/gums as healthy and white as possible. He chews rawehide, 20 min., twice a day.
Any thoughts on this for when he is not chewing rawhide? We haven't been sucessful (yet) at a real bone bc of the mess...
@Dr. Jeff and @Dr. Christina, Cooper moans multiple times per day. Sometimes it's as he's just completed lying down and other times, while he's already lying down. He can either be sleeping or not. We wonder if there may be some stomach/digestive thing (blockage?) or maybe there's pain...
