Hi. How often should I dose Lycopodium 30C for chronic liver issues? Thanks

    Cat with mucus in nose

Thanks so much. I’ve given him a bit of nux vomica - it seemed to go with his symptoms.

    Holistic Anti-inflammatory for My Cat

Hi David. I believe you should not give your cat the dexamethasone. Steroids are disruptive to overall healing and produce lots of problems down the line. Even a knowledgable conventional doc/vet, if you can find one, will tell you steroids make the condition they are used for worse in the long...

    Cat with mucus in nose

Hi Dr Jeff. Thanks so much for that. It’s clear mucus - does that mean it’s unlikely to be an infection? I’m thinking it’s an allergy-like thing... There’s no particular stand-out homeopathic remedy I can find. The only real symptom is the mucus. And it’s more of an ongoing thing so I’m...

    Cat with mucus in nose

Thanks so much for the reply, Dr Jeff. It’s Casper, not Smudge, who’s had trouble with his liver. Casper’s had a bit more bilirubin again in his urine and his abdomen is a bit swollen again. His appetite is a bit less but his BEAM is good otherwise. I gave him some Chelidonium and he’s having a...

    Cat with mucus in nose

My cat Smudge has had a bunged-up right nostril for a little while. He has clear mucus from it, tinged a couple of times with a little bit of blood. When he eats or washes he makes sniffly, snotty noises. He sounds a bit bunged-up sometimes when he’s sleeping. He first got similar symptoms a...

    Curcumin and warming issues

Do you use andrographis and guduchi? Two very effective cooling anti-cancer herbs.

    Curcumin and warming issues

Hi Lil. According to Ayurveda, which I think has the most to say about turmeric, I believe that it is considered neither cooling nor warming, but in fact effective at balancing the contrasting energies of the body. I think it’s good for kindling “digestive fire” but that isn’t actually warmth -...

Aspiration/wheezing when I give my cat liquid supplements

Hi Nicole. My cat got a cough once around the time I was giving him liquid supplements - so I switched to making up little capsules instead, which go down nicely with a coating of butter, no liquid needed. I think it’s best not to risk liquid going down the wrong way! As long as the coughing...

Seeking individualized remedy for pup with constant diarrhea

Amazing! Such good news. I wouldn’t worry about the fulvic/humic minerals because it’s low dose but highly bioavailable - it’s basically old earth juice, rich in all the mineral ions from decomposed plants. It’s like shilajit, which is prized in Ayurveda. But I think one should periodically...

Seeking individualized remedy for pup with constant diarrhea

I guess so, although I always avoid bones, in case they get stuck in the throat. But oily fish have loads of other benefits too, and those ones are low in mercury.

    Discospondylitis complications

Do you have a PEMF system? If not, you can get pretty inexpensive ones on Amazon, and it’s a good thing to have anyway. They seem to be able to give the whole body energy. Also, grounding can support the healing process - you can get pretty cheap, good grounding mats/sheets on Amazon. Some...

Seeking individualized remedy for pup with constant diarrhea

I’ve not tried ASEA. Have you found it has a beneficial effect? I used to put eggshell calcium in the cats’ food, based on the idea that you need as much calcium as phosphorus to properly metabolise phosphorus and maintain bone, but I got nervous about the potential downside of excess calcium...

Seeking individualized remedy for pup with constant diarrhea

I also think wild Alaskan salmon is really good for iodine, vit d, omega-3s, astaxanthin etc. My cats eats almost entirely chicken thighs and salmon. I think it covers pretty much the whole nutritional spectrum. Btw did the diarrhoea coincide with the ASEA at all - that’s pretty salty, right?
