Why is bloodwork with abnormal blood values considered normal and thuja

On Sunday July 20th I gave Blossom who is about 7 now Thuja, as she was supposed to alternate silicea and thuja monthly. So a couple days later she vomits copious bile like I have never seen in all my years with dogs,6 piles. Gave her nux vomica and did not feed her for 24 hours and she was better Now a full week after thuja she did not want breakfast and still did not want it late afternoon. That is one issue. If homeopathy really has some power to do good or harm, I am thinking she might be better off with none of it, although the Nux, I am not opposed to that but this one cure for all once again seems to just have brought on MORE things. I think I am done because what is the definition of insanity? Next is her blood from IDEXX Since I had her, the hematocrit, hemoglobin RBC and now RDW have been in the red. Never had a younger dog with so much in the red and then they say nothing to worry about. How can I believe it is nothing to worry about when I see a pattern. I know and recognize this --everything is fine until it isn't but nobody saw the pattern or the train coming when the blood was indicating something. This blood work done early July shows RBC 9.45 in the red zone, Hemoglobin 22.2 in the red zone, RDW 22.5 in the red zone, hematocrit was 60.7 and ABnormal is 61so basically that in my mind says she is abnormal. What is going on with her? In the past Na:K ratio was bouncing with higher potassium. Her lipase was about 2,000 and again vet said no worries till about 10,000. What does that mean no worries till it gets worse? What is the big picture here. Trouble digesting fat? EAts too much fat? and the RBC values, what is that a harbinger for.She does not drink water but juice from cooked foods and broth. She gets kefir--she had that yesterday--maybe too much fat-This dog has more problems than some of my dogs twice her age.
Another question then is what is Thuja supposed to do because things digestively seemed to sprout up. I do not believe blood values like these show "fine" No other dog had so much red in their blood work at this age or even when older.

Hey Lil!
What is going on with her?
Great question. Her body is expressing its individuality and common but abnormal internal symptoms. Think about it like going to the vet for a bit of daily eye discharge, or frequent anal sac scooting (despite normal bowels and empty anal glands).

Conventional vets don't know what to make of these signs and symptoms. You are wise to recognize them and not get worried about them.

A vet homeopath trained in recognizing and correcting (if it is even something to correct) should be able to help.

You're right that conventionally we tend to wait until the energetic imbalance expresses in more dramatic symptoms.

One of the signs of curative homeopathic treatment is that these common but abnormal things gradually resolve.

I went to CHATgpt and up until 1AM. They really put it all together. I have been told repeatedly that her high RBC, HCT, Reticulocytes were just dehydration. Another vet said polycythemia. Sure, polycythemia, but CAUSED by low O2 . But what the vets never said, never put together was that low oxygen causes these values to rise. They just said she was fat and dehydrated. NOBODY EVER connected the dots. This xray went unaddressed because it was not an emergency. But her clinical picture--I have complained of her exercise intolerance for three years already, pattern of results per stated above, the polycythemia CAUSED by low O2 all go back to the cause----her diffuse pulmonary bronchial changes identified back in 2023 I went back and typed in the results of the xray indicating possible low airway disease and small liver (affecting her metabolic health--i.e. her now low thyroid). I have exhaustively stated she walks slow for a younger dog and nobody ever made the puzzle pieces fit until CHAT. Long story short, I stopped giving her the thyoid because I do not know if it is making her feel sick. I got her to drink some broth this morning but do not know if she will eat yet. I brought up her xray to the vet that did the blood work this time and told him i was surprised nobody ever followed up or related the cause of her slow walking to this finding 2 years ago. CHAT said they don't deal with non emergency concerns very well, all fractionated. They blow everything off and I never read the xray report until last week and had an AHA moment. i assumed everything was ok because nobody mentioned the result of it in 2023. I do know giving her the thuja and thyroid preceded what I have now to deal with. Would NUX help her appetite or not. I can do a consult with the homeopath or is my time investment to explain every aspect once again going to be wasted time? My time is at a premium and already canceled my own doctor appointment for today.

I would avoid giving homeopathic remedies for just one symptom. That can cause problems.

Better to work with trying tempting foods and continuing to search for a more comprehensive energy balancing. Some animals and people have a very challenging life journey and need many different approaches and lifestyles tried to keep them moving towards health.

Others just breeze through life and do not seem bothered by crappy foods, being left alone a lot and toxins.

Keep positive and know you are doing your best.

As i broke the cardinal rule of never start/give things on the same day--gave her Thuja which she has had before AND the thyroid. i noticed her drooling copiously on her bed not sure of the timeline of giving both, probably within 24 hrs and thought it was from the thuja. However in light of the whole picture so far, I think her stomach was being upset by the thyroid meds. Since I never had a problem starting full dose of thyroid for any pet, I did not even consider the thyroid might be a problem. However I now think that, and i cannot take credit for this insight, credit given to CHATgpt that her body may have unmasked some issues, speeded up her metabolism, and caused sensitivity. Although the dose is waaaay less than the vet wanted but I insisted she STILL seemed to have a problem, a suggestion was to gie her half of that dose once a day and then test in 4-6 weeks and titrate up. I have not posed this to the vet yet especially since he said he isn't going down further. But like we say here, each body is individual with unique balances or imbalances. To add to this, and I am big on putting together a cohesive picture where all the pieces have to fit. Back in 2023 all thyroid values were normal per IDEXX EXCEPT T3 which was low and I always thougth that if only that is out of whack there is likely a non thyroidal illness. I think Blossom may have thyroid issues but also feel there are other issues, like the bronchial changes possibly affecting her O2 exchange in the lungs making her walk slow and puff--see it all fits---add to that the out of range pattern of the RBC HCT, retics and hemoglobin and you have a compensatory polycythemia and not polycythemia as the main cause. That is my theory and the one I am going to pose to the internal medicine vet i am taking her to in a couple weeks. Not sure if I should allow for another xray of the lungs this time as I don't want to stress her , she will already have stress. I don't think her breathing has changed since the orignial xray in 2023 so i want to see how much the thyroid plays a role before assuming a primary heart problem. i set up an appointment with the homeopath so I did tell him I saw no positive changes in anything, just negtive changes :-( now low thyroid possibly and the gut upset which may be related to thyroid dosing. Blossom ate yesterday and drank and stopped the thyroid for now. i could just split the .4 dose in half and give her .2 once a day but I have not gotten any doctor blessing yet because I did not talk to him.I want to mention this as well. I saw the UPS tracking info on my dog's record for the shipping of her blood to MSU. I saw the blood arrived there the day after the blood was drawn and picked up at a dock. I called MSU and querried about blood sitting at a dock for 4 days before testing. She assured me that the blood is taken in right away and refrigerated. So do I assume the blood was viable then under those conditions FIVE days post draw, that did travel in the heat. I will insist it be sent to Dr. Dodds should I repeat it. I am told unless blood serum LOOKS off labs cannot determine if the sample is still good. Blood draws are stressful for her and is hearbreaking for me to hear her carry on. I am starting to believe more and more WE are the ones who are motivated enough for our dogs to get to the bottom of things that do not fit. It has happened too many times before---"nothing wrong" and then the bottom falls out because they miss the clues of looking at bloodwork. Patterns are telling. THAT is what I am good at , pattern recognition!
