Hello @Dr. Christina and @Dr. Jeff,

My 8.5 year old Golden Doodle, Sophie, was diagnosed with a tumor on her spleen. It was discovered during semi-routine ultrasound in treating an alleged UTI. They also saw nodules within the Liver upon further investigation (Saturday). Yesterday, I had my vet do a full workup on her bloodlabs as well as a full ultrasound on her liver and splene, as well as x-rays on her lungs. Lungs were inconclusive, liver confirmed multiple nodules, and tumor confirmed on Splene. Both vets have been instilling the urgency of a Splenectomy. 2 months ago I noticed a 1/8 inch "hole" looking spot on her upper thigh (outside of leg, not inside) and she had licked all the fur from the area. The vet perscribed an antibiotic to take care of the licking, and it all healed. I don't know if this has anything to do with the cancer.
In summary, they are wanting to do the surgery immediately (tomorrow) and I'm very conflcted. Vets are saying it could burst and Sophie would die if this is to happen. I'm really not sure what to do about this. They're saying even if the splene is removed I should only hope for a few months. Currently her breathing is slightly labored and she's run down a bit, but other than that nothing unusual. With the parasitic infectoin concern, I've had her on Fenbendozole since Saturday, and a high quality oregano with black seed oil. She seems stable, but the fear of her having a splene rupture is very concerning. Any ideas as to what I should do? I'm really at a loss. As it is she's scheduled to have the splenectomy first thing tomorrow morning, but if the cure is worse than the disease with such a procedure, I can always cancel. Any suggestions much appreciated!

Most importantly, remember that there are no right answers, no one way to approach health decisions. In this moment, intention, love, visualization, keeping yourself (challenging, I know) in a positive frame of mind, releasing fear, are what will make the most difference. Listen to (and a practice healing connection is at the 38 min marker) Kathleen Prasad here and search for her other talks. You can listen to this and all the January and February talks while you are being with Sophie - calmly petting, or watching play, etc. Also start the Happiness Protocol.

Not sure if you are doing the surgery today or not. This is not a decision we can make for you. In many holistic practices, splenic tumors have resolved, or bleeding has been stopped, and sometimes animals have died from bleeding. This statement - They're saying even if the spleen is removed I should only hope for a few months - comes from their limited knowledge of healing and is not true. With your study of HA! materials and support of the holistic health care team you will create, there is actually hope for full recovery, and definitely for very good quality of life (surgery or not).

What you can do is maximize the healing and future lifespan with natural approaches and your emotional support if the surgery is done today. You do need to be working with a homeopathic or great Chinese medicine veterinarian. Some homeopathic veterinarians can work virtually. Dr. Jeff accepts clients who are members of HA! Go to www.homevet.com. For local support, carefully read and then follow the steps in this article. My advising practice can help you trust yourself, be matched with other healers, and offer general support.

One often effective approach to tumors was discussed in this webinar by Eric Bates, a practitioner for people and animals of the Bengston Method (Book - the energy cure - is by Bengston and you can practice it yourself).

It is unlikely that the antibiotics for the skin lesion caused the tumor.
Now may not be a good time for the fenbendezole (Dr. Jeff may have a different opinion).

And schedule your 15 minutes Q/A session with Dr. Jeff or myself.

Hi wetzeljo, sending you and lovely Sophie lots of love and healing.

I have found Dr Damian Dressler's book 'The Dog Cancer Survival Guide' very helpful.

Best wishes, Kirsty

Thank you for your prompt response, Dr. Christina. I looked at the references and watched the videos. I see how to do a Q/A session with Jeff on the website. How would I do this with you? Thank you much.

I forgot to provide an update. She did have the surgery this morning, and the vet explained to me that her "Omentum" has a lot of tumors, as well as the liver and spleen. He didn't give a very good prognosis. I almost had him just stop there and not remove the spleen, as he was giving me the option. But then I thought about it and decided to have him continue to do so, and then try to holistically heal her after that. After my questions about the spleen, even though the other organs are weeping "semi-something" fluid into her body cavity, it felt like the chance of her spleen rupturing was a definite possibility. I'm picking her up in a few hours, and am concerned about her lack of appetite leading up to this. Are there any recommendations and getting her to eat post-surgery, and would love for that consult. Thank you much.

check out my advising practice here.
Mostly give her tons of love and laughter, and singing and music - whatever brings her joy. Offer her any food you know that she loves, even ice cream.

Ignore the conventional vet prognosis. When you say you scheduled your Q/A with Dr. Jeff - that is a beginning, but go to his practice website to become a client.
