My 1 year old cat, Bodhi, will be undergoing a spay surgery on June 26, 2025. I was wondering if it would be worthwhile to add other biomarkers when having her pre-surgery blood work done, to establish a baseline for future blood tests in the years to come. What do you think?

Great thought Joanne! As long as the vet is already drawing presurgical blood anyway, then sure.

It's always helpful to have a baseline. The only downsides are stress of going to the et and having blood drawn (which she is doing anyway) and expense.

In such a young kitty (unless she's having a health challenge already) perhaps ask your vet if there are any indications for tests beyond a baseline cbc, chemistry and urinalysis.
