Pain medicine needed after spaying cat?

Our two cats are getting spayed tomorrow. There's a box on the form to check if we want pain medicine for them after they come home. Do we need this?
We are going to use arnica before and after the spaying, as suggested by Dr. Jeff.

Hi Daisy. You may want to opt for this, to hold onto, in case the frequently repeated Arnica dosing doesn't do the job.

I agree with Dr. Jeff. Usually Arnica, frequently repeated, will be all that is needed. However, many people like to have the conventional meds on hand if required. Remember that you can consider Bellis if there is a lot of abdominal bruising (also scrotal bruising in castration), or Staphysagria, if the pain seems excessive.
