Hello everyone,
My cat who is 17 lbs (big boy) who is a foster fail is having dental surgery on the 16th. He get really bad motion sickness in the car and alot of Saliva comes out of his mouth even for a 9 min car ride. A friend said her cat would get sooooo sick in the car and I think a vet recommended a certain dose of dramamine. (that humans use). Can I give this to him morning of before car ride to surgery? I can also try to give Cerenia or a local rescue gave me a dose of Pepcid as she said the ingredient famotidine that helps with nausea. I also can give nux vomica to supplement one of these. Please let me know what you recommend? I was also given maropitant citrate in almond oil Suspension SF 8mg strength to give orally night before and morning of but don't know if I can manage to syringe him or if he will spit it up. Also, the other option of any of the medicines above are to put them in churu. How early do I have to give nut vomica before travel? The pharmacueutcal ones say 2 hours in advance. I also read in the forum others posted to give arnica 10 M the night before and post surgery??? How many times and days? I will see what kind of pain medicine they will give him post surgery.
