Positive test for Lyme. Waiting on C6 results
Platelets @ 38,000. In addition there was platelet clumping reported in the test which I understand could lower the platelet count and show a false result. To complicate this even further less than 36 hours prior Kobe was given Tobugesic, which I also believe can effect blood test results, especially ipacked cell volume.

Any advice OTHER than doxycycline?

Any advice at all?

My gut gut says retest the CBC

Hi Pat, normally the lab also does a visual scan of the slide to estimate platelet numbers when clumping is present to affirm they are adequate. That should be on the report somewhere. Torbugesic would not have any effect on a CBC.

I have never practiced in a Lyme area so haven't treated it, but doxycycline is one of the recommended antibiotics. It's a relatively mild one as those things go. But homeopathy or Traditional Chinese Medicine/herbs can work just as well. It is important to get on a treatment plan quickly. I've had friends with chronic Lyme and it is much more difficult to deal with in later stages.

Thank you so much for responding with so much information. I've been trying to research some of the homeopathic alternatives and or herbs that you refer to. If you have time, could you list a few for me?

Hi Pat!

I'm sorry to hear about Kobe's diagnostic challenges.
Any advice OTHER than doxycycline?
Sure! But first, how's his BEAM, mobility, etc.?

BEAM is absolutely normal with that ever-high energy level. No symptoms. Platelets @ 38,000 though
