Dramamine less drowsy-2hrs before car ride today?

Hi all, Just double checking if 12.5 less drowsy dramamine is correct two hrs before the trip. Also, will it still be working in his system three or so hrs later for the ride home?
Also, we also have Cocculus homeopatic remidy and accupressure, which helps somewhat on its own, but this is a longer trip to the groomer today.

The dose is 2-4 mg per pound of body weight. It may sound like a lot but dogs have quite a high tolerance for antihistamines. Give 1 hour before travel. Its effects should last a good four hours or more.

@Dr. Jean Hofve, thank you so much for responding so quickly! We ended up giving him 12.5 as was told to us by @Dr. Jeff a while back bf we had heard from you.
He didn't vomit, but he was quite vocal the whole ride. After the grooming experience (3 hrs), he fell asleep in the car. I think he was traumatized by it all. I wonder if we should give him a higher dose next time? It seems like a big range in dose and am wondering what is the sweet spot for him? A little more so he's not crying or..?
