hi All!

so.. the other day I noticed Apple was squinting. I checked her eyes and they were extremely bloodshot. The next day there was no improvement, so off to the vet we went. It turned out it was due to aberrant hairs or distichiasis. No ulcers ... and I was given drops to use until I get in to see the eye specialist which is this Thursday. In the meantime, she is scheduled for her dental on Tuesday (tomorrow)

so here i am again, in a bit of a panic. The eye doctor may recommend surgery for this .. so here's the question - which is more impt - the dental issue or the eyes? How long is recommended to wait between anesthesia?

i have decided to go ahead and get her teeth taken care of tomorrow and see what the eye dr has to say on Thursday. I am really hoping that the situation w/ apples eye can be controlled until surgery or even better w/o surgery. She does have clinical signs- squinting and some tearing. But that has gone away (no squinting) since we have the eye drops. anyways. big ugh. and just need some support. thank you.

Sorry to hear about Apple's health challenge Gretchen.

Eyes. This is usually a simple procedure (plucking the hair or otherwise ablating it) and it is much better than risking her eyesight.

Great question!

I'd say as long as it takes her to fully recover (BEAM). Typically about 1 week or more.
