Haven't. I have mixed feelings about it. It kills the parasites, but I can't help thinking that the same sharp shards of the diatoms are also going to damage gut cells. OTOH mucus layer might be enough to protect it. See, mixed feelings! Ask me tomorrow and I'll probably come up with a new worry!!

I don't have much to say about your question Lauren. Many of my dog (and some cat) pet parents use DE internally. However, I have no horse patients at this time so I'd also "care" to know more about the use in horses.

While I don't know of any current ones myself, horse people were some of the earliest adopters of holistic medicine of all kinds. I'm sure there are long-established forums on Facebook, and around the internet. Maybe talk to your local library and see what kind of horse publications they subscribe to, that might give you some clues where to start.

DE is fine for horses. Our goal with horses is not to have a fecal (you can get a cheap microscope and test for yourself) totally clear of parasites, just to have a low load.

Dr. Madalyn Ward has done some brilliant horse health education (maybe you can even find the course she and I taught together). WWW. HolisticHorseKeeping.com and she has a small membership group where the members are very knowledgeable.

A few magazines - holistichorse.com, Natural Horse Magazines, equinewellness.com.

A few good holistic equine specialists: Kim Henneman - https://www.animalhealthvips.com/; Joyce Harman (retired) - Horse & Pony - Page 1 - Harmany Equine Shop - seems to be just products - though there is Podcasts & Webinars and blog. Somewhere you may find more of her writings - very prolific.

She and I were close to finishing an equine version of the healthy animal's journal. Want to finish it with me, Lauren?
