Hello - I learned about concomitant symptoms in the course you held last year - I noticed a pattern in Koby - on the days when he had diarrheas, he also had frequent coughing fits on the same days. Would these be "concomitant" symptoms?

It depends Christine.

How frequently does he have coughing fits unrelated to diarrhea?

Does he have the diarrhea and the fit at the same time (concomitantly)?

This rubric may apply:

COUGH - DIARRHEA - during: (5) Cham. Merc. Puls. Sulph. verb.

He does have coughing fits unrelated to diarrhea often but when the coughing fits are really bad, he would have diarrhea, 90% of the time. Hope that makes sense.

So 90% of the time if he has a bad coughing he has diarrhea simultaneously?

If so, then yes, these are concomitant symptoms.

If not, no.

wonderful to make the connection, Christine.
and even if not concomitant, they are both valuable symptoms

Oh I see! In his case, they're not concomitant symptoms then because it's not 90% of the time .

And because they don't occur at the same time.

@Dr. Jeff - however, if you look at it from Diarrhea -> Coughing (instead of Coughing -> Diarrhea) then it's 100% of the time. So is it concomitant?
