Cat Vomited Pinkish Foam

Hello,

I’m reaching out for guidance regarding my cat, Junior. I am currently out of town and my cat sitter noticed two spots of foamy liquid vomit earlier today that appeared slightly pink in color. There were pieces of grass in the vomit, likely from his wheatgrass. I am concerned about whether this could indicate blood or if it may be something less serious.

Junior was completely normal yesterday. Today he spent several hours outdoors, and when he returned home, he vomited. His behavior since then has been normal—he was actually hungry afterward and ate his food without any issues. His energy level appears unchanged.

Some details that may be relevant:

• Junior is 4.5 years old, a mixed short-haired indoor–outdoor cat.

• He received Revolution (not Revolution Plus) on November 21 and had no symptoms afterward.

• It’s possible he may have eaten grass, bugs, or something outside that could have caused irritation or discoloration of the vomit.

• I will not be home until December 1, and my sitter will be monitoring him closely.

My questions are:

1. Could light pink foamy vomit with grass be something other than blood?
2. If he had eaten a small animal or insect, could this cause vomit that appears pink?
3. Given that he is acting completely normal and eating well, is it safe for my sitter to continue monitoring him from home?
4. Are there any specific symptoms my sitter should watch for that would warrant an urgent vet visit?
