e: Gracie is our 10 1/2 year old mixed breed, mostly golden retriever. She was provisionally diagnosed with lymphoma on May 15, 2020. She has enlarged lymph nodes and has lost 2 of her 50 lbs. She has no fever. She has a slightly low white blood cell count. We have noticed some lethargy and increased thirst, but no other changes in behavior or appetite. Aspiration of the lymph glands was inconclusive, however, a pathologist will be taking a look at those results to give us his opinion. We have decided to not pursue chemotherapy for Gracie. She has been on a grain free diet for a year or more. She eats celery and fruit for snacks. She has been on a daily dose of 500 mg of ester c from the VIMERGY company. She also takes 1/2 dropper of olive leaf and 1/2 dropper of Pau d’arco daily. Since her provisional diagnosis on Friday (today is Sunday) we have increased her ester c dose to 1000 mg per day (divided) and plan to incrementally increase that dose to up to 4,000 mg per day, depending on how her bowels respond. We have mixed a blend of the following mushroom powders and are giving her 1/2 tsp per day: Cordyceps, Reishi, Chaga, Lion’s Mane. We plan to add Turkey Tail as soon as we can buy it. We also plan to add a capsule of Agerikon mushroom with her daily snack. We have added 1 clove of raw garlic to her food daily. We have mixed 1 tsp of wild blueberry Power from VIMERGY company into mashed banana and plan to this daily, as well. We have slightly increased the amount of olive leaf and Pau D’arco. We plan to add wheatgrass shots in to her regimen this week.
We joined Holistic Actions today and are looking for stories from others who may have had some success in using holistic methods to address lymphoma in their beloved canine friends.

Welcome Ralph! I'm so sorry to hear about Gracie. ?

That's a fantastic list of nutritional supplements that you are already using. Yes, continue to increase the vit. C up to her bowel tolerance.

There are other useful supplements which you will find in this folder and in other forum threads like this one with lots of cancer questions and answers:

Why do you think she has lost the weight? Is her appetite worse?

How's the rest of her BEAM (Behavior, Energy, Appetite, Mood)?

My experience is that recovery from, and prevention of, dis-eases (internal imbalances) starts by looking at the cellular energy that her body needs to heal.

You see this energy through her BEAM which also directly reflects her quality of life.

The first place to start is by looking at her diet.

Fresh and vital food is critical IMHO.

Here's a quick representation of the relative energy and vitality of various foods:vitality scale wo website.jpg

Regarding energy generation, vitality, and quality of life, two other tips to start you out is to use a snuffle mat at least 45 minutes/day and to promote sniff walks.

Like food, breathing is an important source of energy. Here is an article with a few other ways to use the power of her breathing, including research references to why it works:

Dr. Sue will discuss the healing powers of vitality and food on tonight's Empower Hour! webinar,

You can also ask any of your specific questions. Last week's webinar with Dr. Basko is another useful reference. You can watch or listen to it and view his slide handout after you log in at holisticactions.com/login .

I hope you and Gracie have a brilliant day!

In addition to all the wonderful approaches you are already doing and Dr. Jeff's suggestions, I would think about working with a veterinary homeopath or Chinese Medicine trained veterinarian as this can help restore the balance needed to self heal, in many animals.

the December 19 Empower Hour was with homeopathic veterinarian, Dr. Charles Loops and he specifically spoke about lymphosarcoma.

Hi Ralph, Sorry to hear about your dog Gracie. I also have a standard schnauzer age 10 with initially two tumors. One was surgically removed. Since that time the other has grown. See my various treatments in the attached notes. I am also including pictures. I switched to raw food on May 12th, 2020.

Raisin Mastic Tumor Treatments

8/29/19
mastic tumor removed from Right paw. Small tumor seen in left paw via XRAY but not removed due to the toe location which would make it impossible for her to use that leg. On 3/7/20 tumor in left paw is now visible and is bleeding

Splendid news that Raisin's tumor seems better Cindy! :snowman:

Thanks so much for sharing your wonderful info, chart and pictures.

Also, a cancer salve, as I am using for my dog's tumor, can be useful. If you would like to have one formulated for Raisin, please send me a private message by starting a conversation. To do that, just click the envelope icon to the left of the word search on the forum menu.

Do you think the areas circled in blue on the picture above are enlarged lymph nodes? If I use a cancer salve on the tumor, can it be licked off? Raisin tears off any bandages even the kind that have a bitter taste.

The circled swollen areas could indeed be draining lymph nodes.
