IF you are going to attempt to shave any hair off your pet for any reason, please get a pet clipper designed for this purpose. Oster, Andis, and Wahl are well- known and reliable brands. Here is a helpful video:

Cat skin is particularly thin and tears very easily, so I'd suggest professional assistance by a groomer or vet with a very close (#30, #40 or #50 )blade to minimize possibility of injury if your cat is at all fractious.
