I have read many articles and watched several seminars by Jean Dodds who is an authority on thyroid problems in dogs. One thing she cautions about is supplementation with iodine, unless there is an actual iodine deficiency which is very rare if the dog is eating a commercial dog food. I guess it...
I have only used the LUCAA spray a short time but it seems to be helping my yorkie's teeth. I actually use it on my finger and brush his teeth with it. He is 15.5 years old and actually has good teeth but does develop a bit of plaque in spite of a raw diet that includes RMBs. I will try to...
Promoting a healthy oral microbiome may be of benefit. Here are a couple of products that can help with that.

I feed a homemade diet so I pay attention to poops to determine bone amount. My dogs are small so I only add a tiny bit of bit of meat at a time if I suspect too much bone. I wouldn't think this would affect the overall balance too much. I believe every animal is a bit different in what they can...
LilF,
If you cut up the organs partially frozen, they will not be squishy. They don't have to be thawed in the frig for very long before you can cut them up. Once thawed completely they are more difficult to cut up, same with meat that is completely thawed.

There are different ways to feed organs. For my dogs, a little each day works better than larger amounts less often. Every dog is different and we need to find what works best for our dogs. I can tell you what I do which may or may not work for your dog. Note that I do not feed commercial food...
Excessive copper in dog food is actually a huge issue right now. AFFCO only has a minimum requirement for copper and no maximum. Therefore, the various brands and formulas are all over the place with regard to the amount of copper in them. To see the copper content, you need to look at the full...
I would like to share my experience with bile vomiting in case this might help you. Several years ago my yorkie started vomiting bile frequently. He also had a mildly elevated ALT. I always look to diet first. I suspected that I might be feeding too much copper. Beef liver is extremely high in...
Thanks so much. I recently introduced duck necks for some RMB variety and these are not going well at all! Therefore, eliminating them for now. Mine usually bounce back after a couple days of bland diet and slippery elm. Anyway, I think it is good to try new things even though all of what I try...
Since I feed raw, I thought it naturally has lots of enzymes, however my dogs are getting to be very old and I have heard that sometimes they produce less enzymes as they age. I have never given probiotics or enzymes, however I should probably have some on hand for digestive upsets anyway. These...
I feed raw beef and pork pancreas. I feel that animals in nature get digestive enzymes by eating pancreas so I try to mimic that. If you do not have access to pancreas, you could try freeze dried pancreas.
Pancreas Glandular for Dogs and Cats
I am looking for additional joint support for my 15.5 year old yorkie who is starting to show signs of possible arthritis. He was attacked by a pit bull a few years ago and I think he has some effects due to that. He also had a foxtail in one shoulder that formed an abscess and ruptured and...
I use a product from AnimalEOs for my dogs called Away RTU drops. It is already diluted and ready to use. They also have an undiluted version if you want to dilute it yourself. My understanding is that this product is OK for cats but please double check. My yorkie is very sensitive to many...
I read the following on Dr. Basko's website regarding teeth cleaning and plaque removal. Just wondering what folks think about this.
Mix the following together and keep in a small glass jar, and use to apply to teeth and gums. This mixture works well for gum disease, and softens the plaque over...
