Hi all.
My lovely 10 year old male cat Sebby went in to heart failure yesterday. He had first started presenting with dental struggles for over a week - off his food and would only eat very soft foods and treats. When eating these soft foods he turns his head to the right and grinds his teeth sometimes spitting food out. When the vet checked they found gingivitis but nothing much else, said xrays would show anything underneath the gum. They also discovered a heart murmur grade 3. We were due to do bloods the next day but he went down hill within the day with rapid breathing, lip licking and shivering and I rushed him to the emergency vet. They found fluid in his chest and abdomen and the scan showed left and right side heart failure. They mentioned the bloods showed liver and kidney function were fine. He is currently an inpatient there and has been given diuretics every hour to reduce the fluid overnight. They also are administering heart medication through his IV - I'm sorry I don't know exactly which meds yet but I'm happy to attach all of the info I receive when he is discharged. The scan this morning showed reduced fluid but not enough for them to be happy to send him home. His breathing is also still quick - they said about 40bpm. He is a very stressy boy in these situations. He is not eating with them but has been drinking.
He is a domestic Shorthair, neutered, 7kg (could that be due to the fluid?) and his BEAM was low right before being admitted but he is usually such a happy boy with a high BEAM.
He's not a fully outdoor cat but loves to go in the garden and sunbathe and munch on the grass. We do have another cat, Teddy who was his litter mate. They generally get along, except right before meal times Teddy becomes annoyed when he's hungry and starts a fight with Sebby. I am always there to separate them immediately but I do worry this has an effect on Sebby.
Not vaccinated since being a kitten, we are a low/no toxic household, no exposure to medication. His diet is usually katkin which is a 100% human grade meat cat food includes liver, heart etc. with a handful of Purr & Meow kibble daily.
Here in the UK holistic vet care is practically unheard of and there is nothing local to me.
Please do you all have any insight? I am so devastated, he is the best boy, he's like my little shadow! And he's still so young. Thank you.

have a scheduled call with Dr Christina tomorrow. I am wondering which flower essences would be a good idea to purchase for when he gets home?
