Dr Jeff you answered me about my cat vomiting and you did say it wasn’t normal and could possibly be sarcopenia . What I am torn about is my vet never suggested and just us to put her on MiraLAX. She said if she kept Vomiting to do in a abdominal sonogram. If feels to me like they wait wait too long to do anything and I am torn talking to you and my regular vet. How do I handle this? Do I let her know I’m talking to another vet also? i want was best for my cat and not have to worry about Who I am talking to to get advice. Should I take her in for another physical and mentioned that you said possible sarcopenia due to her losing weight and her age? The doctor does not see anyone in person and just called you on the phone after she examined the cat so I feel like out visits are a lot less personal

Hi Jane-

The vomiting is not from sarcopenia. However, both conditions are related because there is just one (hypothetical) underlying cause for both conditions.

What I mean is that conventional medicine does not connect the vomiting and the sarcopenia just as it sees two different problems as being unrelated.

However, holistic medicine theorizes an underlying energetic imbalance as the sole cause for any symptom.

Even though homeostasis (internal physiologic balance) is not yet known to be energetic in nature, the current conventional understanding of balance is quite similar to what we are discussing:

You absolutely should continue to gather as much information as possible. Whether it's from HA!, other specialist vets, pet professional or any other source for that matter. Perhaps ask your local vet if indeed they are fine with your doing this.

In the meantime, have you consulted with a veterinary internal medicine specialist?

I am expecting a call back from my vet this afternoon. I am going to see if she wants to see Katrina once more herself and going to ask if she could refer me to an internal medicine doctor. At that time I will tell her that I am speaking to you also. BTW I ordered the assissi loop today can’t wait for it to come

OK!

Wonderful that you are getting an Assisi Loop. Together with the fresh food feeding, promoting purring and happiness, petting, engaging with you and the environment, etc. I think Katrina's quality of life and healing will improve even more.

BEAM improvements such as this precede test result changes but should also be reflected in her bloodwork in about 6-8 weeks.

BTW-When you talk to your vet about the holistic opinions you are getting, you may want to mention that you're working with the team at HA! rather than just myself.

Also, I did try contacting your vet as we discussed on the phone, but I'm not sure if my email got to them.
