My 12 year old Siamese was diagnosed with Lymphoma and is receiving chemo injections. His BEAM was better on Monday prior to receiving his 2nd injection of chemo. He is showing little energy which is normal after chemo, he is alert but less active and is eating. A friend suggested ivermectin can help decrease cancer cells. Has any one else heard of this and it being successful? Also do you know of a vet who will prescribe it for my cat getting weekly shots of chemo? I live in CT

Hi Janine-

I'm sorry to hear about your kitty's lymphoma.

I don't know any vets who use Ivermectin for cancer or who will prescribe it for another than heartworm and skin parasite treatment.

If you'd like to explore supplements that are clinically proven and prescribed by integrative vet oncologists, you might want to give the wonderful Dr. Kendra Pope (who is a board certified vet cancer specialist) a call or watch her cancer supplement webinar recording in your member area.

Hi Janine,

Lymphoma is not one of the cancers discussed, and is a bit of a different beast. Treatment of cancer tends to be specific to the type of tumor. Drugs that work on one, don't work on others.

The one treatment that IS effective for lymphoma is a strict keto diet. (Not to mention it is the most natural and appropriate diet for cats, period!) Reduce the carbs as best you can--carbs feed cancer, and lymphoma loves them above all!

Thank you Dr Jean. I did read to avoid carbs. I am currently feeding him canned and raw rabbit , raw goats milk and a little pumpkin and turkey tail mushrooms.
