Hi @Dr. Christina and @Dr. Jeff,

In searching for a wholistic/holistic veterinarian in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, I found a clinic that offers homotoxicology - a patented combination of homeopathy and herbs? Just curious, what are your thoughts on this modality?

Thanks,
Christine

Generally palliative. These are combination remedies prescribed for specific organ problems.
I would not think of it as homeopathy, merely a different approach using homeopathic preparations.

Dr. Christina

Yep. What she's saying is this approach will not address the particular presentation of this - or ANY - animal. It fails to take advantage of the power of homeopathy to speak to the individual's needs. Get yourself an experienced homeopath, feed a fresh raw diet, encourage happiness, and you will be doing SO much more....

Christine, we discussed this practice before you moved. I thought they were too far to be your local vet.

They may be open-minded, and if you end up going there be wary of homotox. as Christina and Ginny said.

Thank you, Dr. Christina and Ginny!

Thank you, Dr. Jeff,

Yes, I recall us discussing this practice before my move. Now that I am more familiar with this area and after further searching for a holistic/integrative vet practioner in the area, this practice is one that's closest to where I live.

I am not planning on bringing Penelope there....but I want to be prepared (at least have a place in mind) in case we bring home new rescues for checkups and such. ;):catfood:

And thanks to y'all, it's a big "no" for me re homotox...I thought it's interesting though and it's patented?!
