Blood test/health check

Hi. Hope its okay i ask. I was at the vet today with my Girl cat. She had a health check and blood test, the blood test was to check liver, kidney and metabolism.I got the results of the blood tests and the numbers were fine.


I'm also in doubt now whether it's the right thing to do for my Boy, to get health check and have a blood test.
 My cats are 13 and 14 years old. I don't feel there is anything wrong with my cats' health. But I can't see into their organs. So that's why I'm not sure if I should get that test on my boy.


I could see how stressed my girl was from everything today.



I didn't like that 2 glasses of blood were taken from my Girl today. I had asked in advance if they could just take a little bit, but the vet said no, that they had to take what they had to take, otherwise they couldn't take a proper sample of it.


And also i don't know if what I did today was stupid. I took the train with my cat, we left home at 10:30, took the train at 11:28, and at 13:06 we took the train back home. And we were back in the house again at 13:40.

Was it too much stress?
I don't have a car. But maybe it's better to ask if someone can drive for me than to offer my Boy cat the same ride that my Girl experienced today?

If the tests have not been done in the past few months, then yes. They are an important part of proactive care.

Great point! Minimizing stress would be one of the two major reasons not to do the tests (the other being cost).

It's worth the peace of mind you gain by doing the test.
