Actually, I was wrong as that's not what the pathologist meant (I just reviewed the biopsy). He was referring to the "muscularis layer" within the bladder. Not spread to the muscle. This was great to see (that there had not been external spread).
I was also struck by this good finding:
No definitive evidence of serosal
involvement is seen.
Tumors that generally show primarily mucosal involvement such as
papillary to in-situ growth have a better prognosis
I'm super confused because surgeon said that the pathology shows that IS in the muscle but above I think your saying it's only spread to the muscle layer within the bladder? That's MUCH better, no?
