I have one with Asthma and I'm in the process of getting him off the steroid inhaler. I didn't see negative effects, but what I did see what that it stopped working and we had to resort to steroid pills which also stopped working overly well. After a meeting with Dr Feinman, I realized I needed...
Training is a great activity. Are you familiar with clicker training? my cats will all sit on command, jump up, or off things, and sit up. Cosmo will even lie down and roll over, which is entertaining for guests. It become a game, but also great for teaching them do do things they don't like...
Getting cats outside for a walk can help both with feline confidence, and to lower aggression. I train all mine with harness and leashes. I wouldn't say it's easy, and very different from training a dog! [really don't do it the same way] but it's been worth it. I even wrote a book on how.
You might try going back to square one and putting the kittens in a separate room. How long did you take before they integrated? Did you do Jackson Galaxy's protocol with feeding them on the opposite sides of the door? Did you use the scent and space-swaping? What sex are the kittens? How old...

I have three cats [used to have four] Something that might make the daily cleaning easier is a LitterGenie. This is a product that was originally developed for diapers, but the concept works fantastic for kitty litter. You can find them on Amazon, Chewy, Etc. I had a cat that was doing...
How food motivated is he? If he is, you could try clicker-training and teach him some tricks. If he's not, spend some time figuring out what he like to eat best.
The Jackson Galaxy link is not correct and I couldn't find the product on his website.
Alternative suggestion: I've been giving my three zeolite for heavy metal detox. I take it myself and it's tasteless.
